The hugging/venting thread

The hugs - take them! That's a pretty poor situation you're in.

Honestly, I know that feel, bro. I often fall into that self-loathing rut, myself. I lose sleep and I don't eat much during these times, and, like you said, it's really hard to focus on anything important.

I usually just take solace in the fact that "it'll end eventually", meaning that this rut will take its course and be over with before you know it. It may seem like an eternity now, but you won't even notice when it goes away. Happens to me all the time, really.

It's nothing too big to worry about, but if you ever need comforting words, I'm here for you :D

My laptop is in a coma and only i can repair it! And it annoys me. My Dell studio laptop doesn't turn on because of a design flaw (The power button is in the hinge which loosens with use, and the power button's connections eventually snaps). I need to wait until the replacement wire comes and i'm constantly scared that something may happen to the memory.

I need some comfort.

I can't stand being around when the power's out.
That just drives me insane...

I grew up in a country where power outages were part of the daily routine. You eventually learn how to do stuff without electricity. But now that i am in NYC, with nothing to watch on the TV (all the good channels are blocked and on demand can only last you for so long), nowhere to really go and nothing to really do, its downright distressing.

9V, but a piece of the terminal got stuck in the slot and now it doesn't work. I personally think it sounds better than my big amp that came with my guitar. It's one of these.

On a bit more on topic news, i've been rejected by all scholarships i applied to for my study abroad (it's actually three out of four, but i don't even need to hear from them to know the result). I'm oddly not that sad, but it still sucks for me...

I apologize if this is a long post or if this comes off as butthurt, but that's one of the many wonders of the internet, huh? Unable to tell someone's tone from just words typed in a message board. Anyway, here we go.

I have no idea if I mentioned this before, either in this thread or elsewhere, but I have a self esteem problem. In other words, I can't take rejection well or too much overbearing criticism without getting the impression that I suck at everything I do, be it music or art, and I should give up, go die in a fire, and let society say "Good riddance." It's a tough beast to overcome, and it'll likely be one I will never be able to.

All of this being said, I, out of curiosity, looked at Circuit Fry's tumblr for the final BP track listing, and you can tell where this is going, mine wasn't on there. Again, I'm sorry if I come off as butthurt over not having my track on the album, but like I said, I can't take rejection well. That's just the way I'm made. I'm even hesitant to release the final version publicly because something must be horribly wrong with it, like a baby with a conjoined twin.

I'm not asking for a pity party, and I'm aware plenty of other tracks got the boot (Including two from a good friend of mine, Seventh Element), but this is a hard pill to swallow on my end. In fact the only reason I would post the YouTube link would be to let people criticize it brutally and tear it limb from limb, just so I'll know whats wrong. If someone, anyone, would like a crack at it, I will PM you the link.

This is a bit harder to write than I thought it would be. Again the internet's not very good at displaying emotions without looking like a noob or someone who spams emoticons. By and large, I just wanted to contribute to something sponsored by the site, you know, get my name and face out there. I'm aware of some of the charity albums, but now I'm not so sure if they're worthwhile, seeing as I'll probably get turned away there too.

I apologize if I'm taking this harder than I should or if I'm beating myself up to a bloody pulp, but that's the affliction of having an inferiority complex, I guess. Who knows.
