<pony><original> Down the Rabbit Hole...

Postby Ed Viper » 20 May 2012 17:23

Howdy y'all! I was more or less inspired by Kyoga's awesome ambient tracks to go ahead and try my own hand at it. This is a WIP I've whipped up today, about a minute long, not bad.

Any feedback?

EDIT: I've been trying to get my vocal samples to echo more. I added reverb, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. Anybody know how to add echo to vocal samples?

reverb isn't quite what you want for echo. use a delay for echo, preferably one with bouncing pan controls.

holy crap dude, creepy as f***, I llike it!

this would be a very nice background song for a movie where someone is exploring a cave. I can dig this

OH! That song is a great resource in this! Thank you!

You've also got some great points in there. I'll look to doing those things. I figured using percussion (besides the heartbeat) would kind of ruin the mood of the song, but I figure if you keep it mellow and more in the background, it'd work as more of a structuring mechanism and less as part of the song... if you get what I mean.

Also, thank you for the compliment :3 I've been switching between this and studying for math midterm all day.

Any other feedback is appreciated!

Kyoga wrote:Well, on any reasonable level, I dont think I have much more to rail you over. :D
but don't forget, percussion can do wonders for an ambient track, if you remember my track "March For The Lunar Queen" the drums turned out to be the primary push of the song!

if you never heard it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl83IqRm2pA

Ah true, but the mood of that song is different than mine, I think. The percussion gives it more of a subtle, almost fighting feel, or perhaps, as the name suggests, a "marching" feel.

I just wanted to go for creepy

Bumping with finished product :D

Here you go! Added some more samples, and a cool/creepy footstep thing that I'm rather proud of
