<pony><original><WIP><concept album> Birth of a Draconequus

NytMayr here once more, here to share a bit of a different project, but one that is by far my most ambitious. Inspired by the album "Something Broke" by Tarby, this is an entire album filled with instrumental songs that, when put together, serve to musically tell an origin story of the one and only Discord. In addition, there will be a few pieces of narration performed by yours truly.

I'm going to be updating this thread with the individual songs as I complete them. They won't be found on my YouTube page until the album as a whole has finished completion. Once that's happened, they're going to be uploaded all in one go, as well as putting the album into a nice, bundled package. Until then, I'll post the songs on SoundCloud for the purpose of distribution and all of that.

So, first on our list is Odium, which serves to describe Discord's initial disgrace, how he was cast out for being wildly different compared to the others ponies. To that extent, the song is equally somber and bitter, starting with an exposition narration, soon followed by orchestral strings and the omnipresent pipe organ. The song then fully transitions into an orchestral piece with haunting violin and cello solos, as well as some rather pounding and deliberate drums. The song then ends on a somewhat unsettling note, as a bass drum begins playing, sounding almost like a heartbeat, and some eerie strings begin rising in volume, until the piece ends with an echoed drum hit, signaling Discord's turn towards anger and revenge...
