I really, SINCERELY hope that I didn't exude this kind of attitude. It's just that personally I don't see much of a point for ANYONE to join Megaskype, considering that several hours, thousands of messages get patched through. And none of them are about music or getting to know people better or anything. It's just a massive orgy of "HEY GUYS LET'S SPAM THE MEGASKYPE WITH [insert meme]".

If you want to be more involved in the community, stick to the forum and the Official Skype chat and the IRC. You'll get to know people personally, as well as maybe snatching a bit of impromptu music production lessons.

BUT IF YOU'RE SERIOUS ABOUT GOING INTO THE MEGASKYPE (which has no relation to My Little Remix), pm me your Skype name. Not sure what you're going to gain from that, but if you can't be convinced otherwise, pm me.

This skype seems a little mainstream. I dunno about this.

Okey since there is some confusion about the megaskype, I will explain some stuff.

To begin with I would like to repeat what others have said already that THE MEGASKYPE IS IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM RELATED TO MLR.

I got added to the megaskype around August/September last year so I don't know all of its history. However from what I understand it originated from the "contact detail" thread here on mlr. People got in touch with each other via Skype and eventually someone (to my understanding IPie) created a group for all of them to chat. The chat quickly turned more NSFW. One example I can still remember was chain algorithm posting real life horse porn in the chat.

This makes the megaskype sound like a real 4chanlike place, and this is also why it got this reputation. However I cannot make this post without telling you all the positive feelings about the megaskype. I have talked to so many people the ranging from alexs, tephnos, Ipie, DJShamrock, Artemis, NACP, foozogz, macattack, overkillius, icky and many more which I can't remember rift now. To some of these people I still talk this very day and it warms my heart that I have made so many friends over internet while before I joined the fandom I thought friendship over the internet was not possible. We have also had a lot of deep discussions in the megaskype. One that I can still remember from the "later days" of the chat is a discussion with micthemicrophone, Dnotive, Ipie and foxytail about relationships, the actual meaning of love, life and how to live it. This discussion lasted for about an hour and I have never been able to talk about these things with anyone in my life before.

However all great things must come to an end. (I think) around the time balloon party was starting up (this is an indication of time not a cause) the megaskype was falling apart. Because of the open door policy of the chat it became too crowded in there. It was difficult to have a conversation with someone because there were always multiple discussions going on at the time. You didn't care anymore for the people who were chatting because they are new and you have never been able to get to know them personally. The chat also had to be locked every evening because so many people were talking that Skype just couldn't take it.

This and the fact that I am on a Skype "break" right now made me decide to leave the chat. Many people left because of this fact already before I did. The chat was already getting kinda deserted (at least at eu times) before I left and my guess is that it has become even more deserted than it was but I have no proof.

At this time there are many chats that originated from the megaskype and where there is less of an open door policy where I have found my home(s). What I suggest is that you get into the official mlr chat and perhaps get into some other chats from there. The most important thing is that you feel at home and get to know new people, that is what I did back in September and that is still possible right now.

While I would consider it a bit of an honor to be involved in a Skype chat with names as big as I'm reading, I don't think it would be worth it. Sounds like a bunch of people (maybe with a slightly high ego) posting about stuff I don't really care about. I would never get heard, so I'll stick with what I've got already. I'm content as it is.
