I'd love to hear the story behind that. Way to live the dream.
At the end of my orchestration class, we had an opportunity to have a short piece we wrote read by a full orchestra. So I tried to write a diverse piece with some contrasting sections, to get an idea of how an orchestra handles them... I also wrote the piece in a single night

Heh, good to see you Dr. D! It's been too long! I've just been off the grid for a little while, in terms of pony presence. Although, I wrote an article (based off of one of my posts on this site) and made a comic for a friend's pony zine at the Toronto Comic Festival, and I'm pretty excited about that.
Yeah, when it got played I was a tad disappointed, of course all I could hear at the time were the errors... the orchestra read through it two times, the one I uploaded is the second time. So they didn't really rehearse it, and it was not performed in any concert. They did a great job given the time restraints though, and I DEFINITELY love hearing it now that I've gotten a chance to step back a bit! The main problem areas were the purposefully-dislocated overlapping/Stravinsky-ish thing in the violins (it was way faster than the rest, and tough to "feel" given the context) and some out-of-tune clarinet in places. But all in all definitely very excellent overall

Aw yeah!

Yes! I agree!
