Indeed, it was a bit psychedelic. But melodically darn nice! What actually is your problem with rhythms? Don't know how to get them right? Don't know enough music theory?
PS: the guitar sounds too much like plastic. Maybe ask someone to help after you get the rhythm thing right?

The guitar, that's the problem. I wanted to give it a more natural but brooding feel. Kind of like this:

I tried many things to get the guitar to sound more natural, but it still just sounds off. If it helps you, my process is first compose it in sibelius, export it as a MIDI and then master it trough FL.

You can write MIDI in FL too. Unless you don't like the editor then just stick with sibelius. However, the difference between your song and the other is, that instead of playing all the strings at the same time chords are arpeggiated. Like in case of C major, which consists of notes c, e, g the chord is played one note at the time. Like this: c-e-g-e-c-e-g-e...
On the other hand, maybe you should make a thread in 'Sharing Is Magic' and ask if there are any guitarists willing to volunteer for a collab. After all, fake guitar is always fake. ;)

I don't want to come off abrasive, but i know what an arpeggio is. In fact that's pretty much what i mostly do when i play guitar (i get off track very easy when i try to practice). Maybe i will have to make it a collab. I kinda wanted to make my first complete song solo, but quality trumps pride. I'll try some more on my own (at least a chord progression) and if it doesn't work, then i'll just have to ask for help.

I know what an arpeggio is -_-, they are the most fun you can have with a chord. Also your shredding speed makes me feel a bit inadequate...I must practice more.

Thanks. That has been my main problem. I don't practice as much as i should. I simply don't set the time aside and when i do i get side tracked. The same with piano. The only times i really "practice" are when i'm in a machine like, technical binge. The same one that lets me make charts like this one.

I know that for guitar, the overall pattern is unchanging. You could move it anywhere up or down the neck and it would still work since the half steps move with you. For piano, its quite a confusing mess.

Well that certainly true. Piano already has all the notes laid out for you while in the guitar they are all spread out everywhere and it gets worse with alternative tuning because you have to keep the new pitch positions in mind.
