Liquid Drum n' Bass

Postby soup2504 » 21 Apr 2012 14:27

Liquid liquid liquid.

Any tips on making something in this genre? Especially the bass, because I just can't get my reese to sound liquidy, and it's making me cry liquid(wow, did I really just...). And is there anything I should know about the structure / way it's done / whatever?

Thanks in advance, this is also kinda important, but I won't say why... YET.

A reese in liquid is usually not modulated as much as reeses in harder dnb because the modulation would most likely conflict with other melodic elements.
Also you use less distortion and lower the mid and high frequencies to leave more room for other intruments.
In terms of structure liquid is pretty open, just make sure it doesn't get repeatative.

Well, I should've known YOU would be here eventually :P but thanks, I'll definitely be trying that after I finish my current project.
