Hey everyone!

I'm fairly new here. I've been lurking for a while now, and decided now is as good a time as any to introduce myself.

To start, my name is Cooper. I'm a 16 year old from Colorado, USA. I enjoy being active in communities, and would hope to get a name eventually in the music community. Right now I'm in High School, but I'm looking towards the University of Miami or Colorado University (Boulder) for higher education in Architecture and Cultural Design.

As you might have been able to tell, I have a strong interest in the arts, which is one of the many reasons I'm here. I have a great respect for the people who can use simple sounds and tools to get complex music and surreal sounds. Recently, my musical taste has veered more towards Electronic music more than Rock, which is kind of strange, as I've always had a passion for Rock. Anyway, back on track, I would love to be efficient in the musical arts.

Although I'm very new to the creation side of it, I have a small background in music through school. I've also had a very musical family, so that gives some influence on me as well. I do have FL Studios 10 for music production, and am still learning the ropes of it, so I have some of the tools that could be had.

As I mentioned, I am 16 and as that entails a lot of free time, I am spending it on a rather large project at the moment. I have done many calculations and it will be done in a year or so's time. Until then, I'll more than likely be not producing anything worthy of publishing. I tend to be a bit touchy on finishing things that I've started, so no turning back.

Well, that about sums me up. Sorry if it's rather long. I prefer to give a good knowledge of myself in introductions haha.

tl;dr: I'm 16 and looking forwards to making music in this community.

Oh, and of course I love MLP. Wouldn't be here otherwise ^^

Right there with you, buddy, and I've been playing guitar for a living for a while, now. Just not as many exciting, new frontiers happening with rock right now. Everyone seems to be playing it safe.

Welcome to the forums, I'm new, too.

Haha! Just found this thread. I already made a thread in Technique, and was welcomed by a few people there, but I just found this thread so I suppose I'll introduce myself more formally.

I'm Nick, but I go by the username Emperor Übermensch! (I shorten it to "EmpÜbermensch" due to "Emperor Übermensch" often being too long for a username).

I'm from the Los Angeles area in California, and a very good friend of mine got me into making techno music about a year ago. He hasn't been doing it for much longer than I have, but he's already way better than me : / a little disheartening sometimes.

However, I'm very ready and willing to learn, which is really why I joined this forum. Since I'm a nosy little squirt, I'll probably be asking those of you who use fl studio for flp files so I can snoop around in there and see what you did and how you got certain things to sound right ^ ^.

I contemplated putting more here, but I don't want to write a novel or anything haha. I read something on here earlier about getting skype info for most people here, so I always have someone I can talk to for help. Sadly, I am lazy and do not have the attention span for this, so I have placed my own skype name into my signature. If you feel like adding me, then feel free to do so. If not, then, I'll find yours eventually  muahahaha.

Hai guyz.

I really don't consider myself a brony. It took me forever to register because of that anti-spam question thing. I couldn't do it till it asked who Twilight's assistant is.

I watch the show occasionally with some of my family and find it amusing. My bro also has been showing me some stuff that has been coming from the brony community, and I'm impressed.

Anyway, I suck at music, but I try anyway. I've been messing with music ever since I can remember. I like music, video games, any other sort of art or writing. I also like challenging physical activities.

Looking forward to seeing what's going on around here. I have no idea.

Have a good day.

Hey guys, I'm Daniel (or Danny), I started watching the show about half a year ago, my favorite pony is Rainbow Dash :)

Anyway, I'm a musician, I started out with piano at 5, I HATED it. By the age of 7 I was sick of piano and started begging for a guitar, my parents told me "once you master the piano", so naturally I started sneaking into my dad's office to play his acoustic guitar. I was 11 before they got me a guitar, but by the time I got it I already knew how to play it (decent, I'm no prodigy). I turned 16, tried to form a band with no luck, at 17 I tried to join a band, and still couldn't find anything I fit in with. Being discouraged with my community wanting to play either metal or country, I left the thought of joining a band behind and started making music on my computer, I went from rock to trance and now I'm stuck on dubstep.

I talk too much, any totally found this site on accident just today, and thought it'd be a good place to talk to other musicians (since none of my friends are into making music).

Glad to be on the site :D

In some ways I wish I had gotten an earlier start on music, but I've heard all too much about people resenting classical music and piano because they were forced to play at a young age. Also, Texas bronies! woo!

I feel ya, man. My parents made me start piano at 7 and told me the same thing when I asked for a guitar. They didn't get me one of my own until I was 16.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Tom but on the inter-webs you can call me K3wro and I'm 14.
I'm from Yokosuka and I been producing Electronic music for about an year by now on LMMS, I use FL now though.

Well, the thing is is that I'm not really a newbie at all of this. I've been a musician for a long time and I play numerous instruments such as the piano, trombone, tuba, Clarinet and bass.

Oh, and of course, I love MLP:FiM! :D

I am Interrobang Pie. I make chiptune music and have been for the past year or so (although only seriously since six months ago). My weapon of choice is Famitracker, although I have occasionally been seen using other stuff like Milkytracker, sunvox and FL Studio. 99% of my musical knowledge is stuff I've taught myself either through observation or experimentation. A few months ago I got accepted into the Music Lobby, a Dropbox folder with 22 other members similar to myself.

I make games too. Games are fun.

I am also a Mega Man fan, so normally I find some crazy way of combining FiM with Mega Man (for example...). It is funny because I have been alienating my original Youtube audience by favouriting loads of pony shit so it comes up in their subscriptions feed. Secretly this is part of my plan to take over the world.

I am very picky and annoying.

Hmmmm, an introductions thread. Should have seen this.

Well, I'm me.

As of right now, I'm an acoustic guitar player/ songwriter. Been playing for 12 years now, singing and writing for one. Ponies since February. I record everything from home, with a snowball mic into audacity. Best I can do right now. I'm terrible with theory.

I try and influence my songs with progressive and house music, trying to keep a relaxing yet dance-y feel to them.

So, yeah. Hi everyone!

Hello, Everypony.

Postby DMDOKURO » 23 Apr 2012 07:38

My name is DM DOKURO. Now some of you may know me as such because you've probably stalked me in Breakbit's golden era. It's a shame that the label's now a joke.

Anyways, I'm a composer with quite a lot of experience in choral and musical performance and performing. My vocal range is bass to slight tenor (if I ever do go that high, people tell me to stop yelling. XD), and I've been gifted with perfect vocal pitch and pitch memorization. I was Breakbit Music's pride and joy back in 2010-2011, and specialized in ambient, breakcore, and drum 'n bass music. Over the years, I've grown an acquaintance with Famitracker, DefleMask, and LittleGPTracker/LSDJ. I plan on expanding using Sibelius and advanced FL Studio MIDI controls.

Pleased to meet your acquaintance.

Postby timbaer » 24 Apr 2012 02:26

I guess I've never given an introduction, so I may as well do one now.

I'm timbaer. I've been playing piano for about fifteen years now, though recently I haven't been playing nearly as much as I'd like to. I've also been playing guitar for about eight years, but I haven't really given it the attention it needs; as a result, my technical skill is decidedly mediocre. I can't speed-read sheet music, and thus most of my learning is done by ear. This has infuriated every music instructor unlucky enough to have me. Lately I've become quite interested in DAW-based music production, most notably with an orchestral feel. I am terrible at it. But that's why I'm here; to learn more and get better.

I'm a university student; I couldn't decide whether to study art, music, or writing, so I took the logical path and chose VFX production. I'm in a fantastic program, but more and more I'm thinking about switching majors and trying to get into concept art. I'm pretty sure this would just make future timbaer poor and resentful, but it's something I'm really passionate about.

Nice to meet you all!

Hey guys!~

My name is Josh.

My universal username is ExaltedVelocity. (or basically ignore that, I go by Velocity or Velo.)

Uhm.

I love art and music OF ALL TYPES.
Like, I cannot express that enough.

My OC can be found in the little picture on the side here.

Uhm, my favorite artist is Porter Robinson..
and Parkway Drive/A Day to Remember are my favorite bands.

I just recently got into the music community, however I have been listening to you guys since the get-go. I became a brony in May of 2011.

My favorite pony is Fluttershy and Surprise.
Yeah, I know Surprise isn't even on the show, but FUCK, she's just so bad ass.

Also, I use FL Studio, NI Massive, and such.
and I also use Sketchbook Designer, GIMP, and Photoshop CS5 to draw OCs and such.

I'm still learning how to do both of these ^

All help for these things given is MUCH appreciated.
Musical Goals which will probably never be accomplished:
Finish Original Mixes; 'Soothing Elements' and 'Chaotic Belief'
Emulate Porter Robinson's 'Spitfire' by making a brother song named 'Soarin'
Remix Glaze's 'Beyond Her Garden'

I suppose I had ought to post already, else I put it off forever - but my goodness is this an intimidating place, so much talent. ;A;

Well hello, I'm... well, just call me Blu; everyone else does. You can also use Sable if you prefer, everyone.. uh.. else does, I suppose. I'm also awkward as all getout - I bet nobody saw that coming after such a masterfully crafted introduction as that.

Lifelong lover of the arts, music in particular - I suppose it only makes sense, considering I've come here. I'm lucky enough to come from a very musical family, but unlucky enough to where a lot of circumstances have put a wrench in the veritable gears of what I'd like to do with my life. My instrument of choice would be drums, but getting access to a kit has proven... difficult, so I'm sadly without much of any instrumental experience; which I regret greatly. The best I can say is I dabbled slightly in saxophone, violin, guitar and piano, they just never quite stuck - and at my own fault I let myself fall into a long-time rut.
So overall, I'm here hoping to learn, and make up for a lot of lost time. I've always had music in my head I've wanted to put into play proper, and becoming a part of the pony community gave a lot of inspiration in that direction, and I really want to push myself to that effect as more and more I realise it's what I'd truly like to do for a living. Hopefully 'Better late than never' will apply. [Geez, I act like I'm decrepit and old; I'm 21.. but then, I see talents of 14 years of age and feel highly inadequate.]

Oh, and as is obligatory, my favourite pony is Vinyl Scratch. NO SURPRISE THERE. :B Out of speaking roles however, Scootaloo - and of the mane cast, Twilight. I've got GIMP and Ableton access as of current, but the latter is a good bit more intimidating to work, and my musical tastes change more often than the weather so assigning favourites there would be an effort in futility.
