FL Studio and Massive

Postby CyberpunkColt » 12 Apr 2012 05:57

Just recently I got massive onto FL studio, but for some reason every time I do something in massive, like turning a knob or something, I can't play it. The only way to then hear what iv'e come up with is getting back into the piano roll and playing it. This gets very annoying as I have to switch back and forth from massive and the piano roll. Can someone help me out?

Click the upper left corner in Massive -> Click Detached

You still won't be able to use the keyboard but this way you can click in the piano roll without the massive window disappearing

The window switching isn't much of a problem for me since I have a big display. I just want to be able to use massive with my keyboard for quick and easier access.

Click the little icon at the top left next to the X that takes you to the settings. Check the box titled "Disallow keyboard defocus" (or something like that, it's near the bottom left). I had problems with this too, it gets really annoying.

I have the same problem when it comes to Massive. For me, what I do is I write up some sort of melody, hopefully something I'm using in a song, and then I let it loop while I mess around with massive, that way I can hear massive and as a plus I don't even have to touch the keyboard while using it.
If you want to hear just one note repeated, then just write it into the piano editor. If I do this, I like to have somewhat of a rest between notes, that way I can hear what a little silence would sound like.
It's kinda my work-around. Hope it helps.

I get this error alot, but, all I have to do is click outside of massive, then click it again, and it works for me.
