Winter Wrap Up (Progressive House Remix) <wip> <pony>

So, uh, Hi MLR! So uh, yeah. This is overall my first actual attempt at making a song so, yeah I don't think its actually pretty good, but then again, whatever. Just, uh, any feedback would be much appreciated, y'all. (Just, sorry if this is rude or anything. It's pretty late so I've sort of lost my..... train of thought)

long song is long. The actual winter wrap up bit gets a bit muddled, but that might be what your trying to go for. For prog house you probably want more high up synths. Pretty good, this is definetly better than my first try at whatever. Also cool waveform.

Well, it's progressive house. Isn't the whole point of progressive house is to be long, and involve some sort of long build up?

What exactly do you mean when you say this? (sorry, not trying to be angry and/or rude, but I'm just confused)

Yeah, after I posted this I started to notice this actually. Sorry if this sounds sort of noobish, but what exactly should I put up there (part of me wants to put an arp of the main melody up there with a high/quiet/buzzy synth thingy, but then again I don't exactly know what I am doing)

  • Opens .WAV in Audacity
  • Looks at waveform in Audacity
  • Compares to Soundcloud wave form and notices lack of coolness
  •

First of all, dat kick, there is a lot of sine in it almost too much for prog house I think. At :30 the white noise is quite ear piercing at first I would turn it down for those first few beats and again when you bring it in (like 1:00). It may be prog house but you still bvring in the synths too slowly at first. You kind of only have a kick, snare and noise playing for the first minute and a half (I know the bass is coming in there but its far too quite), this makes the song, at least the start, boring. 4:20 now everything is coming in now and it all sounds good, nice work there, but it takes too long to get here.

Hey y'all. So, I just created a 2nd version that changed/edited a bunch of stuff so, yeah. I'm not really sure if I'm suppost to bump or just update the original post so, in the meantime, I just bumped. Sorry if this was the "wrong" thing to do, though.

Update: Oops, apparently either Soundcould or I DeЯp'd and the track, for some weird reason seems to be overly compressed. Strangely, though, it seems fine when I play it in Ableton. Guess I'm gonna have to re-upload, hold on.

Update 2: Welp, Uh turns out I was warping the entire track in Live :(. Anyways, I'm just going to redo some parts of the mix, and just put it up, so nevermind really.

Quasi-necrothread, yeah I know (I'm not sure how "bad" this is around here so sorry if I broke any rules.) Uh, yeah this is the actual second version (actually starts on the first snare though, so sorry about that, but the rest is fixed though.) So ignore the previous post. Anyways, I'm still looking for some feedback on this, so.... I dunno, sorry about potentially breaking some sort of rule.

This is much better then the last version! It sounds similar some of deadmau5's older prog stuff, at least the main pluck does. I think the drums could use more variation in the first half, something like adding some hats or shakers in the mix as it builds and progresses. Thats all I got this time nice work on the remix.
