there seems to be some static on the deep bass (guitar or drum?) thats in the background, as well as some of the deeper instruments

I didn't really notice any static, but then again, I have trouble telling the difference between a mastered and non mastered song(unless it's my own). Ala, bad ear for stuff like that. But it was a pretty good track, although short, but still, a song being short doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, it's still great.
