It definitely has a jungle genre -type sound to it. Um, the intro seems to disconnect with the rest of the song, the sound clips from the show have their own background music which I understand is hard to separate, but it is somewhat jarring. It doesn't have much of a melody, but it's got an interesting and varied beat. I think you overuse the distorted oscillator-y sound a bit much (one used in the intro), maybe try some panning, pulsing, or phasing with it. Maybe put something in the higher bands, there's a lot of bass and beat sounds but not much going on in the song.

It's a great start!

Trust me, if I could go back, I would definitely add more to it... But it really really really got fucked up when I saved it, due to that strange way I mastered it.

If I could fix one thing, though, it would be the 2nd half of the song. The drums really need to stick out more.

When I master my music I export the song as one file and then master the file alone, it might help you out in the future.

That's what I did. Exported it as WAV, put it in edison and normalized it, exported that, then put it in another flp file and mastered it there.

The problem is, I saved it under the same name as the original .flp file that the song was exported from, and overwrote it without thinking.

That is the worst, sorry to hear about that. I have not done the same thing but when I got a new computer I somehow didn't move about half my flp's and they were lost forever, but that was when I sucked so it doesn't matter anymore.

Yeah... It really, REALLY blows... It's literally torture, probably the worst thing that has happened to me when I was making music(worse than when massive would refuse to work no matter what)

Hello everyone! (hopefully I'm doing this right, first time posting in a thread XD) I just wanted to get some opinions on my orchestral Balloon Party piece! I really hope you guys like it! :D

Is there anything I can do to improve this? Anything, ANYTHING at all would be extremely appreciated!

Very interesting piece, It kinda gives me a nightmarish vibe. The Balloon Party voice sounded a little awkward in it though :/ Other than that, I like it, Good work!

This is a pretty good piece! I don't really have any suggestions; I'm not too sure how well a bass would fit in here.

I am far From an expert, but here's my opinion.

I like the orchestral strings, but considering the large amount of time we have to
Make this, I'd suggest adding some good woodwinds or brass lines to this. Brass especially, since they can be very good at accented, staccato chords like the ones you use at 1:40. I can also see how some quick flute or oboe lines could add more tension to this section.

My other comment is that I think this could use more "tutti" or sections where all of the instruments play at the same time. You drop instruments out a lot to focus on specific lines many times, but I'd really like it if you could put together more parts where multiple melodic lines fit together, or where everyone plays the same line, or chord.

This is a great piece, as I'm sure you can tell, but I'm sure you can make it even better before the deadline. Good luck!

Hehe, I remember one time when I finally finished mixing a song over the course of a week.

The program crashed while exporting the master track, corrupted my file, and I could no longer use it. :(

Is Eurobeat an acceptable genre for Balloon Party if it's super fast and intense?

Question:

Does it have to be produced or can you make a DJ mix or mash up and upload that?

I have a song I just finished(well, almost) that I'm definitely putting in Balloon party. All I need to do is add some audio clips and I'll be done.

This song is probably the longest one I have worked on, and holy shit did it drain me out.

Yes, it's that long.
