I think I posted this in the wrong board originally so I'm going to go ahead and move it here[soundcloud][/soundcloud]

Hey everyone first let me say I'm new to the site and well frankly making music in general but I've been trying really hard to teach myself how to work with my program (FL Studio 10) and make something that doesn't sound completely awful.

I've never really cared about music too much until I started getting involved in the pony community and heard that amazing artists here, you guys are what inspired me to work on this and finally feel like I'm doing something productive. For that I thank each and every one of you.

So this is the first some I've made, Its probably nothing special but any criticism, feedback or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I called it Trixie's exile, although besides the title there's nothing in it that directly relates it FiM but the inspiration for the song came from the show.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and maybe listen to my song!

First off, welcome (there's a pic for this occasion, but I don't know if we've instituted the cider rule yet, and I don't want to buy for the entire forum, so I'll let someone else handle that one).

Second, wow, that track's pretty damn good. Keep up work like that and I think you'll earn a pretty good spot here.

Thanks! I was a little worried the whole thing sounded a bit too generic since I made it nearly entirely with some of the default plugins (Sytrus mostly) and some drum samples I downloaded. I'm ecstatic to know it isn't completely awful.

Thank you guys!

I've seen the picture floating around the board, but its still neat to have it posted in my own thread so thanks! I actually wrote the entire quote down in my journal so I'll see it every time I go to make an entry.

Instead of making a new thread I'm going to bump this one and hope someone sees this!

So this new WIP I have started isn't pony related in fact one of my roommates picked up Silent Hill: Downpour and that's I'm drawing inspiration from for this song.

Its just the intro and whatnot but I was hoping to get some feedback, criticism and suggestions on it if possible.

The volume on it is kinda out of whack right now but hopefully its not too bad

To the above post.

Wow, that was a major improvement of the first track. The piano sounds more realistic, you added some bass, and that rain sample...mmmmm...

Phenomenal intro! I eagerly await the finished version.

Thanks! Instead of just using presets I took some time since that last track to study my synths and learn how to make it sound a little more like how I want it, glad to know its working!

Who's your favorite pony?

I'm your favorite pony!

This is some pretty niiiiiiice stuff here man! Promise me you'll never stop writing; for some reason I feel I'll be hearing some awesome tracks from you within 2 months.

Also, I eventually want to collab with you. Just sayin'.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention! I want to hear you entering toastbeards.

Sometimes its hard to keep my moral up but I promise I wont give up, and if my stuff starts sounding really awesome within 2 months that would far exceed my expectations!

One of my set goals is to collab with someone actually, so when you think I'm ready I would be more then happy to!

I hadn't even heard of toastbeards until you just mentioned it, taking a look at it I think I'll definitely start entering it, it looks like a blast!

Also this http://soundcloud.com/bronytuber/downpour

Got a lot more work done on it today.

I'm always up for this (God, I'm already a collab whore). So just a shot in the dark, how do you feel about tracks with weird time signatures (so weird I don't even know what time it is in  )?

Haha I don't think it would be too huge a problem, would probably take me a little bit to get used to but I think I could manage!

Alright since I finished up Downpour and had a whole Sunday off work I whipped out a track really quick its a hell of a lot faster then I'm used to and I kind of feel like it turned into a mess.

Last one I'll post in this thread, I promise.
