<Pony><Remix>Faceoff (Daring Do)

Postby ForA1000Years » 13 Mar 2012 21:30

Original song: http://soundcloud.com/captainfluffatun/faceoff-ziq23

I went for a dark and ritualistic atmosphere when remixing it. Not much variety but I'll adress that in my future works.
Also, first pony song ever. <3

This is a interesting track/remix.

If you don't mind me saying there is some clashing between the bassline and kick, all which could be fixed with EQ work. At 4:03 that little bassline you have seems to be distorting in my headphones and after listening to bass heavy music I dont think its a problem with my headphones. Do you use much compression? It sounds like you need a lot of the bass heavy parts compressed and limited to help fix the distortion.

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, there's a lot of bass that needs to be compressed. I wanted a more distorted and destroyed "power noise" sound, but it didn't sound very good in the end.
Also, Sci told me that the piano doesn't really work with the bassline. I'll have to pay more attention to these details in the future. Coming from dark ambient and ritual industrial, it's somehow new for me to work with melodies and song structure.
