^^ That is some of the best advice to a beginner and something I wish I knew when I first started.

These video tutorials showed me everything I needed to know when I was using FL Studio, imo they are the best tutorial videos on youtube for FL. He picks a genre and shows you every step into making a song. I highly suggest picking genre and going through the tutorial.

First off, if you have a skype I can definitely help you, I've been using skype for a few years now and know 99% of the program.

Second off, DO NOT GIVE UP. There WILL be times when you think your music isn't good enough, or when you think that you'll never improve or get anywhere with your music. STICK WITH IT. I've had times like this, but I always came out a better musician in the end!

We seriously need a counter for that Ira glass quote. Every tenth post the offender should buy everypony a round of cider or something...

Anyway, welcome to MLR! The more the merrier!

When I get home from school I have a lovely pack of hard-whatever drum samples. Hardcore, Hardstyle, Jumpstyle, bunch of hard noise samples. I like to layer the Hardstyle ones with drums I've made myself.

Everyone else already stated pretty much everything else, like don't give up and stuff and that you'll go through some seriously hard times, however I feel it bares mentioning...

You will suck a while, but the only way to get better is to practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice.

When you get bored of practicing; practice some fucking more.

But you shouldn't really get bored; the entire point of making music is enjoyment, and if you aren't enjoying yourself then theres no point. So make yourself have fun; if it sounds good, persue it! I got into music to try and make dubstep, but only recently have I even begun to understand the basic mechanics of the genre itself musically, and am just now getting around to making some that sounds decent after being part of MLR and making music for around... Oh, since October, so... 6 damn months almost. Christ; it really has been a while.

Totally worth it.

Hope to see you around bro; if you get ahold of someone on Skype we'll get you added into the MLR megaskype chat via Skype, or up there at the top of the webpage, (or any MLR webpage) is a link to the IRC chat; I normally hang around in both, and I know both chats are full of some damn fine people.
10/15/2014 - I finally return to ponies? Maybe.

Actually it was more like 10/12/2015

My current SoundCloud, pony & non-pony things found here.

I have 4 EP's under this alias!

Somepony talk to me, I are the lonelies. :c
