Evenin' Mates.

My name is Josh and I'm a sixteen year-old kid from rural New York (Odd, how most people out of state have a hard time believing that). Anyways, I've been fiddling with FL Studio for about two years now. I recently got FL 10 for Christmas, and decided to put some real effort into making something to be proud of... Well, atleast in music. I'm a huge literature critic, and writing/reading prose and poetry unfortunately is my biggest interest (I think I have a fanfic on EqD somewhere...). Nevertheless, I'm hoping to do something with my time on this earth, and perhaps this is a step in the right direction. Oh, I'm pretty good at GIMP too, I guess.

I tend to listen to alot of Progressive House/Trance/Electro (Mau5, Moguai, Tiesto, Michael Woods, Benny Benassi), but I also find myself listening anywhere from Dorincourt's Nasty Anthem Remix (Dubstep) to my entire folder of Dimitry G. material (Hard Electro). Personally, I tend to try to create electro/house-ish stuff, but I constantly find myself just shooting off in some opposite direction. I primarily joined this site so I could get some feedback, and see where I go wrong/could use some improvement.

I became a brony in May, shortly after making fun of a friend who confessed he watched it too. He challenged me to watch the first episode... And next thing I knew it was 3am on a school day and I was still watching ponies. Luna & Twi <3

In short, I'm a younger brony who shamelessly puts words ahead of wubs, who never really quite knows what he's making until he's three-quarters of the way through (and usually then scraps it), and who is fluent in using really old equipment (Some random 2001 Stereo system, a dust-covered Yamaha CTK-496 keyboard connected to the computer, and a pair of cracked Pioneer headcans).

Anyways, that's me. Nice t' meet'cha.

Depends, honestly. I spend the school year with my father in Clarksville, NY; The summers I spend with my mother outside of Gouveneur (St. Lawrence County).

Both places are rural, although the latter much more so than the former.

Wow. I'm possibly-maybe-looking at going to RIT for college (Animation), and I've been to Rochester a few times before. Nice place, much nicer than Albany, I'll tell you that.

Anyways, nice to meet ya, Calamus.

Greetings all :)

I'm Arolli, I've been lurking the site for months. I'm Australian and have a Diploma in Software Engineering.
I've been playing/making electronic music since 1990 starting with a couple Roland synths, Yamaha drum machine, Boss effects pedals and a 4 track tape recorder. Today I use Reason/Ableton Live/FL Studio and some Korg gear to play live electronic music. I havn't recorded any of my own music in 10 years. I'm also one of those annoying people who can pick up almost any instrument and play a nice sounding tune on it though I've only ever trained in piano.

I listen to everything. Dubstep, Opera, Country, JPop, Drum & Bass, Classical, Chiptune, Showtunes, Soundscape, Jazz *shrugs* Whatever it's all good =)

All you brony musicians are awesome, I love waking up to find new pieces of work from you all to drop onto my phone and groove away to at work.

Twilight Sparkle, Luna and Vinyl Scratch are my fav ponys.

Right, uh... Hi.

Just another music guy... At the moment I make weird, mellow, dark dnb and 'drumstep,' which I don't even consider a genre, but enough people seem to.

Anyway, I'm hoping that this'll end up being a nice environment in which to fire off my weird, hastily-composed attempts at music. I'm sure there are plenty of you who actually know what you're doing.

I hadn't even seen this. Well, here goes. Shameless self-plugs commencing.

This is me. Caligari's Keyboard. I do all sorts of music, but I've been drifting more and more towards pony-related material. I've got some stuff up on my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/CaligarisKeyboard?feature=mhee) and a subtly different assortment of things on SoundCloud (http://soundcloud.com/ckeyboard). I'm primarily a drummer, with experience with all kinds of percussion, as well as certain other instruments including keyboards, pan flute and guitar. My instrument of choice when it comes to creating most of my music, however, is my computer, along with my MIDI keyboard and microphone.

I do electronica, remixes, sampling, mash-ups, and have been known to phase into pop, rock, dubstep, techno, and all kinds of odd places. Fun fact: I'm about as comfortable in 7/8 as I am in 4/4, and I'm getting better with 5/4 as well.

For software, I've been managing to eek by with a half-broken version of Garageband from 2008, and recently, I discovered the Chrome app Audiotool, which I've been meaning to start using more but haven't really. (I'm on there as CKeyboard, if anyone else uses it...)

So, I think that that's more or less it. I'm quite effectively a nobody; when I found today that one of my songs on YouTube had gotten up to 17 views, I was quite excited. But I keep writing songs the world will never hear, and though they won't be heard, I just keep writing, like a good little rock 'n' roll nerd.

Aaand CK out.
Signatures are really annoying and they take up too much space.
WHEEEE YOUTUBE SOUNDCLOUD Ahahahaha...

Postby guitarfan01 » 18 Feb 2012 19:20

I'm guitarfan01, or The One Galen, or just Galen, and I make music about ponies.

Or at least I'm starting to.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years, piano/keys for about five years longer than that, and written songs for the same time. I've written good songs for about four years (at a very slow rate), and just started performing them last year. I use a looping pedal for live shows, inspired by Phil Keaggy, who is the biggest influence on my playing style, although all sorts of different ideas shoot off in my head at any given time.

I have about five different pony songs that I'm writing right now. The only song I have up on my youtube is a guitar/saxophone duet I wrote as my final project for my college music composition class two years ago (holy crap it's been that long!). A couple of my friends performed it at about 2/3 the tempo indicated with limited rehearsal, so it's kind of meh.

I'm also working on a fanfic, slowly but surely. Right now, it needs a lot of drafting and even more revision.

As for what I want to do with my music/art/writings: I want to inspire people, I want to express myself, I want to take part in the incredible surge of creativity MLP has inspired in the fandom. I want to write things that people will hear and like, but will also challenge and inspire.

I'm not sure what I want, really, but I want to write good music and perform it, and writing about things I love has been something I've done for a long time, so this fits.

Helloooo.

I got FL Studio 8 a few days ago with no previous musical experience, so I'm rather new to the scene. I've spent many, many hours the last two days tinkering around with the program, enjoying myself greatly, and I'd love to make this a permanent hobby of mine. Not much more to say at the moment, I do hope I stay as motivated as I am right now.
I was redirected here from ponychan, and this looks like an excellent place to share my work and get the feedback I crave so much. I've made a little thread with my first track over here.

This ought to be fun! See you around.

Hey there, everyone!

I go by Super Bass, and I'm yet another aspiring Brony Rapper.~

Surprisingly enough, I've only just recently been interested in the music scene.
A friend of mine named Copycat introduced me to the community through a Skype chatroom, where I ended up eventually meeting Yelling at Cats, AgileDash, and Omnipony, alongside many other talented people.

After lots of talking and goofing around, I took a closer meaning to what this community was about. I started learning from these people, FL Studio and how it works, I'm learning from AgileDash. Yelling at Cats has given me numerous lessons on rapping and a few pointers here and there as well. I haven't released much lately, (I have a Collaboration in the works at the moment), but I'm definitely prepared to put a lot of hard work into this. As such, I've also sunk quite a bit of money into it... I'm not really hoping to become famous or anything, and I don't expect to, but what I really want is for people to see my name and know that I can make people smile from what I do!

Hi everyone, I'm Piranhaplant!

I've been playing piano for about 10 years and just recently got into creating electronic music. I have one remix currently released that you can check out at my YouTube channel. Slowly I've been working on another remix, but it's been hard to find time to work on it.

You guys seem like a really nice community and I hope to enjoy my time here.

I guess, but I was thinking more in the way of studio microphones. I could give you recording tips both on the setup (so you know what to buy) and the actual process. I just recently got to an at least passable level on my recording.

In that case, no. My whole producing setup is an HP laptop, Sennheiser HD380 Pros and multiple qwerty keyboards. I use the laptop for everything, mind you.

Heya! The name's Arkane and I'm new to this place. [HuRRr]

Been a brony since the first season and with all the remixes I'm seeing all around the internets, I decided to join in with the flow!

I mostly do symphonic metal/rock. You know, those kinds of songs with guitars and whatnot accompanied by some sort of orchestra and the like. You can throw in a choir there if you want.

I'm also an amateur voice actor [not that it matters here anyway >_>]. So if you need some sort of dramatized speech in the middle of your song, then I'd be willing to help.

Oh yeah! I cant seem to find the Introduction area in this here forums so I made one here.

If you wanna listen to some songs I did, here's a couple of links:

[NON-BRONY] Lily - Lily Lily Burning Night Symphonic Metal Cover ft. MewMewRith
[BRONY] Avast Fluttershy's Ass Symphonic Metal/Rock Remix
[BRONY] [First Brony Song I made] Derpy's Lament

So yeah! Hope my stay here will be awesome!
