So, here is that sample I promised. I frankly have no idea how it sounds, because the sound of my own voice was really frustrating me tonight...

I hope you all like it and I really hope that I don't dissapoint anyone!

Please, please, please feel free to comment on ANYTHING. It always helps to get feedback, ecspecially from people that I respect as much as each and every one of you!

What are you talking about, Jax? I think any musician here would be honored to work with you! I know I would. I'm just not asking you if you'd like to do something with me on the spot because I don't think my music would be worthy of your voice, and even if I did I don't really have ideas for new songs right now. :U

But I digress. Man, your vocal work is impressive! And that iPad mic isn't half bad either! Boy, you're going to get around, I'm calling it right now.

Take it from me, I have the same problem with inferiority complexes. Now I'll definitely consider working with you. :3

I've never been a huge fan of Sinatra although I enjoy Bublé (I know, blasphemy), but that sounded very good to me. Especially "Feeling Good." (which incidentally is from the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd and is the only song I know from that musical)

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the wonderful comments! It's nice to know someone has faith in me, even if I don't have much in myself. I also wanted to add that I am going to start jumping into FL and hopefully should have a song done soon. I've got two ideas so far, one is related to Rarity, the other is an Ode to Twilight, so I should have my hands pretty full (though I will always be up for collabs).

Once again, thank you so much for your support and believe me when I say that I can't wait to start contributing to this wonderful community!

We're happy to have you with us, Jax.

A word to the wise: If you want to get your name out there, send some of your stuff to Equestria Daily. The guys there will put your music on the site and have thousands of bronies checking your stuff out and if you're good, you'll make it big. I'm kind of a medium name, if even that. I'm not just starting from scratch, yet I'm no Living Tombstone.

The guys here will NOT put your music on the site, unless you're famous.

Or they hate just me.

Meh, they did it for me numerous times. Then again that was back in September/October.

I'd say they're picky about what they put up. I consider myself lucky that some of the staff likes my stuff, so it gets posted rather quickly, but I've had friends' submissions shunned/delayed for no apparent reason.

Maybe in my case, since I do a lot of rock/metal, it's a breath of fresh air to the seemingly endless stream of electronica and techno that currently occupies the majority of brony music (Aside from guys like me, Acoustic Brony, Dethonator, etc.)

Sadly I'd have to agree with this. One of my oldest videos (which was 5 weeks old at the time) is the only one they've ever posted (and without the remix credit too). I've submitted several but never actually received a response back on any of them, not even a rejection letter as to WHY. Their TOS actually states on music submission that they'll respond to each (which i've seen isn't the case first hand). Sadly their new procedures of tightening up their standards is actually making their music section very much more of a lotto system / popularity contest in getting in. Which is sad because its a great site and has amazing pull in getting bronies to check out your music. Of course they are likely overcome with so many submissions (there are just a pletheras of artists now) but its extremely difficult for even mid-tier artists to get in.

So in other words, if you're not a big name like Mic the Microphone, Living Tombstone, Wooden Toaster, Eurobeat, you won't have an ice cube's chance in Hell in getting featured? Nothing against any of these guys, they're great, but I like hearing what lesser known musicians do too, in addition to these celebronies. Jax is a good example here. His voice is great and his eagerness to collaborate and sights set on big band music is a breath of fresh air IMO.

Again, maybe I just got lucky, or Sethisto has a taste for rock. xD

First off, thanks once again for all the kind words and advice! *Wonders if he is being overly polite.*

Anywho, I have considered showing my stuff to EqD ( when I get around to actually making it -_-) but it seems that I may be better just letting my music spread by word of mouth. Or click of keyboard, as the case may be!

I'm hoping that getting a track of my own into the Balloon Party album could help here. How, you may ask, does one make hardcore jazz and big band music? Well, I have no idea, but damnit I'm gonna find out! I think a contra bass clarinet may fit the ticket. Maybe a strong violin riff in the background, accented by a brass band? I think I may throw in a quick, quirky skit in the beginning to intro the song. That could be fun! But now I'm rambling. It's a work in progress.

First off, we'd love to have you do Balloon Party with us. It's right up my alley (Thrash metal) so I should be fine. As for you, I may have to sit on that.

All the big band tracks I hear are joyous and uplifitng, but there are some somber jazz numbers. Maybe go that route.

Glad to hear I'd be accepted!

What I really want to do is introduce people to an new side of big band. If it is written correctly, it can be very emotionally impacting, and not just in that happy bubbly way. It has a lot more potential than people give it credit for.

Not that I'm saying any of your ideas are not good, I just don't think somber Jazz would work here.
