That's not maths, silly! That's electronics, cirquit analysis. It was actually the answer to a test I had a while back. It's the equation describeing a certain "all-pass" filter, which boosted the voltage around a certain frequency [f=1/(w2pi), w=sqrt(1/LC)], and left other frequencies untouched.
