...So I just finished watching the First Season of Game of Thrones, as well as the first episode of season 2.

As awesome as it is, I can only find one way to react to the events of episode 9

The death of Ned Stark still hit me hard, even though pretty much everyone already knew that he died. Before I watched the series it meant nothing, just another character to add to the Sean Bean death list, but now...

Joffery better die painfully. And so must his mother.

I've read all the Song of Fire and Ice books published so far and yeah... it only goes downhill from wherever season 1 ends... (So far that series is only the second one to date that has literally had a scene in it that made me shut the book and lay down for a while and strongly consider not going on because of a character death...)

downhill for sure... I mean the freaking baby execution in the first episode of season 2 far out I was not ready.

Again back to Ned Stark, I loved his character so much. Such a top bloke - the greatest man I've seen in the series so far. I was so not ready for his death. Even though I knew it was coming I couldn't believe it when his execution was ordered. As soon as it happened all I initially thought was "...I don't want to do this anymore" ...but that was quite quickly overpowered by "...I wonder what happens next."

The shows great. It's had some really good quotes, moments, and scenes (though there's so much messed up stuff and the duplicity of everyone in Kings landing and some other places are really annoying me in an "I'd wish to have a dire wolf tear out your throat but that would be too merciful of me" kind of way). I was considering getting and reading the books for a bit but I heard some people saying the writing style was rather bland so I'm not sure...

Season 2 episode 9 is my favorite episode so far. The battle of Blackwater is fuckin CRAZY. Just wait until season 3 episode 9 ;)
