Leafrunner, you sound like you have a lot of experience producing music already :D
@pplebukker, hiero, don't worry too much about getting into making music: I spent a month or so just staring at FL studio, making nothing. I now regret that a lot because I could be a month ahead of where I am now if I had just ponied up (rimshot) and started making stuff.

I hear ya, the first step is the scariest. I've started on a couple of projects and hopefully they'll be fruitful. If not, it's a learning experience. Thanks for the encouragement, Calamus.

I'm just wondering if all the folks who put 'DJ' in their name are all actually DJ's, rather than only producers. :) Not many people seem to realize that those are 2 different things...

My friends used to ask what my DJ name was(some still do), I keep on having to tell them that I am more of a producer.

Hey everyone,

I've actually been on the forum for about a week now, but I thought I may as well say hello. I've been a brony since about the middle of last year, and a musician long before that.

I used to be a part of OverClocked Remix, and I never got anything accepted onto the site. Then I took a ponies in the music and found this site. :D

I use:
Studio One, Cubase (rarely)
Midi Keyboard
Various samples from everywhere
Other stuff, which I can't think of at the moment.

What's up guys;

Well first of all, welcome to anyone above me :D

I'm CommandSpry, which is just an anagram of my actual producer name for non-pony music, I've been producing since 2009 (well, I have done stuff in Magix before but you can't really call that producing ^^)

I have a problem defining genres and sticking to one which I'm sure somebody else must have too xD For example, my favourite bands are Megadeth, Hamerfall, Kamelot, but also people like Matisyahu, Daniela Schmidt (beast DJ) and Tony Igy.

I've always procuded transe-ish sounds, lately I've started something a bit quicker which is sort of like DnB. I also do a lot of orchestral :)

I use FL Studio 9 (I refuse to install 10 because GUI), some of the VSTs are of course Nexus, I also have a bunch of added libraries for that, also Omnisphere and sometimes Kontakt and even FM8.

Cya :)

Hey there, My names Aba, I'm from (and currently living in) Scotland, and I'm fairly new to Music Production, not yet made a full song, just lots of really short bits before I get the urge to make something new...

Musically speaking, I'd say I like a bit of everything, with preferences toward both Rock and House, along with a good 90% of Pony-based Music I hear.

Using Cubase 5 with the default Plugins, along with Massive and an Alesis Q49 MIDI Controller, and slowly working toward getting DJ gear aswell, Non-Digitally, I play Guitar (Not very well) and the Bagpipes (Because I feel it's an obligation, not picked them up in years though).

Well, there's my introduction, look forward to spending the next while with my eyes glued to this website.

Hey-o! My name's Beat Match but my friends call me Zach. I'm very, very, VERY new to Music production (I've never made a song and I kinda suck at trying.)

Musically, I'm very electro/dubstep/house inspired.

Equipment wise, I use Mixcraft 5, A trial version of Ableton, an Apc 40, An mpk mini and for speakers, I use Studiophile AV-40's. I also love to make friends so feel free to hit me up :)

Can't wait to see what the future brings!

Heya! My name is Tom, and I wear hats! And now to a little bit about myself:

I've got into music by learning guitar, but I'm starting to get into Electronic, Dubstep, Hardstyle ect.
Newer rock doesn't seem to have the edge it used to in my opinion, but Metal and Punk are some genres I love too!

I'm also getting involved with a Pokemon/My Little Pony crossover game which is coming along nicely! (may post DL links and the like, but I might not)

Projects I'm doing at the moment:
Remix of Rainbow Factory (don't hate me don't hate me don't hate me don't hate me!!!)
An untitled Rock/Punk song for Discord
And I wanted to do an original cover of Like a Spinning Record but am lacking creative motivation :/

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you guys on the forum!!!

Welcome Tom!! This grabbed my attention right away, because I've already made the tablature for the song (except for the solo, but I'm working on it) Maybe you and I could do something together?
Anyway, I wear hats inside too. Can't wait to hear something from you.
Check out my stuff.

Hello MLR. My name is FlyingNinjaBannanas, or FNB for short. Here's a little bit about me.

I'm 14, just thought you guy should know. I'm just starting out as a music composer. I'm going to making electro, dubstep, electronic, rap beats, and probably more. I really don't want to be a one trick pony. I'm also a singer and a decent rapper.

I pretty much enjoy every type of music except for mainstream music. The stuff they play on the radio. It dreadful to me.

I would love to collab with someone, let me stress "love". But that might take a while. Especially with my busy life.

As for projects, along with the ones in my signature, a Rainbow Factory Remix seems ideal, and a Beyond Your Garden remix. But I'm probably overdoing myself.

Hope to enjoy this community and get along with as many people as possible. Thanks for reading.

Heyo, everypony! I'm Goggles, though I usually go by Rayzer outside the fandom and Zero Degrees on OC sites.

I've been around the fandom for a while, and actually I remember when this place was first made. I've just been busy/lazy these past months, and I recently decided to get off of my fat flank, be a little more outgoing, and actually contribute to the community for once.

I've always been a band geek, and currently I'm on my 8th year of playing saxophone (woooooo college music major). I'm a big fan of Progressive/Electro House, though really there's not much music I don't like. I've been making my own music for a little over a year now, but I've never been happy with the sound of it. I always seem to come up with ideas that I really like, but I never seem to have the software to finish them as well as I'd like... I feel really outclassed just being here.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everypony here, though! I'd love to collab if anyone's interested.

Greetings!

Been a fan of the show since about April of last year, and have been compulsively checking EqD ever since, heh. As it would be impossible to not have noticed all the talented artists and content creators in this fandom, as well as the fantastic community that's sprung up as a result, I couldn't help but feel that it was something I'd be proud to contribute to and be a part of.

I've been composing/remixing as a hobby for probably close to 10 years now, but I've always wanted to make a career out of it in the film, video game or television industries. Like many artists, my work tends to be thematically based on stuff I'm interested in, and some of my compositions and remixes have made their way onto WoW Insider and the League of Legends Community Spotlight. I look forward to further exploring FiM from a musical perspective and perhaps working with some of you in the future =).

Cheers,

Ved

Oh... There's even a thread for introduction. (Why haven't I found it when I signed up here?)

Well, I'm Naturematthe, I'm 18 years old, studying music and... surprise, I'm a brony. (Who has been expecting that?)
I'm not a native English speaker, as I'm from Germany and only learned English at school. So if there are any major mistakes in my posts, feel free to tell me.
The instruments I play at least on a semi-professional level are violin, piano, organ, but I also have the basics on guitar, ukulele and accordion.
The style of music I'm most familiar with is "classic", which includes all styles of music after Gregorian and before New Music as well as "classic" background music for games and movies. I'm not very experienced in electronic music, but I hope to extend my experience here.

If anyone here also speaks German but is a native English speaker, please contact me, as it's quite hard for me to translate my fanfic into English^^

Anything else to say besides the fact that my favourite MLP character is Fluttershy? I don't know. If there is anything, ask me.^^
Don't mess with hybrids!

Oh whoops! I completly missed the introduction thread. Didn't find it at first. Go me!

Hey everyone! My name is Senjan and I'm a swedish, 19 year old bro. I've been into music ever since I started playing the piano back when I was 9. As I got better, I started making music in various programs on the computer (Starting with Dance/HipHop Ejay, to Mario Paint Composer, to FL Studio which I use today). I never got into "serious" composing until late 2010.

I love music, and most genres actually. I'm trying my best to learn how to compose most kinds of genre music. My biggest favorite is video game music with a catchy, uplifting, humorous / adventurious feel to it. The big dream is to one day composer for a movie of video game company.

I have not yet composed anything pony, but I will soon. After coming across Makkon's channel on Youtube I found out about this website and decided to join it. I love composing and the show, you love composing and the show. I think (and hope) that we can inspire each other.

So...yeah! That's me! =)
I love music, and this show. I hope that my stay here will inspire others just as you inspire me.

Hello. I'm ToEachTheirOwn/Love and Tolerate. I make some combination of Gabber, Hardstyle, Orchestral music, and Progressive. I also will hopefully be bringing a pony metal band together, and am making an ambient pony project. I'm free for collabs, and am willing to do just about any style.

As well, I'm sorry about the extra links that should be in my signature after I submit these edits.

Postby F3nning » 29 Jan 2012 03:22

Hay there everypony, I'm F3nning!

I'm 15, and I've been making pony music for about 3-4 months now (I just never joined MLR until a week or two ago). I've been playing/making music since I picked up the violin in 3rd grade, and, after learning to play guitar, bass, drums, a bit of keys, and how to sing (sing well, that is), I decided to pick up a copy of Logic Pro, in an attempt to make my guitar sound like Tyondai Braxton, of Battles Fame.

After Honing my chops in logic for a few months, and after experimenting with some electro and dubstep stuff, I moved on to making pony music, shortly after becoming a brony in mid-October 2011. I whipped out a quick remix of Alex S's MLP Intro Glitch Remix (working on the vanilla on Garageband, for reasons that to this day escape me), and my fate became sealed.

I personally love all types of music, both listening to it, as well as making it, but electronica seems to be the type of music I can make the best, so, there we go!

I already do a lot of stuff on youtube, so, hopefully I can get my crap together and start posting on here more often, instead of just sitting around elsewhere. Who knows, maybe I'll even do a Toastbeard!

See ya round' the Board!
