First of all, this is very short. I would have loved for it to be longer, to build an actual progression and creating a piece as a "whole." I'm also not too keen on the guitar sounds used, although that's entirely my personal opinion. I feel the backing track is a mite too fuzzy and lacks impact to base the lead off of. And the drums are a bit too quiet in the mix. Sometimes I can barely hear them.

The good things include your overall technique, which is something I was never able to pull off when playing guitar. You seem to be fairly on beat for most of the track, although a couple of slips are only natural. The lead melody itself is well executed, although it could have been more interesting given enough time to develop properly.

All in all, I find this competent. Not mindblowing, but also not terrible. It seems you've set a relatively narrow perspective and executed it to the best of your abilities, and that's really all one could ever ask for. You show potential, which I value more than anything.

Well it's very short because it's just a near exact cover of a background song of a game, so there's not gonna be a lot of progression, especially considering it's less than a minute in length :P
Also i usually mix drums too quiet, i don't like drums to be too loud. They are already clipping a little so i'd rather not push it.
About the guitar tones, that's just preference i guess. Though i did take out quite a lot of low end. Perhaps a little too much. The post processing was a preset from a while back so they aren't the most recent.
I'm glad you like my technique though, it's something i've been working on for quite a while now. I've never been great at keeping rhythm because i used to practice without metronome, and it's still haunting me to this day :P

Your playing is pretty decent, though it could use a bit of tightening up. The guitar tone is super fizzy and lacks body. I'd imagine cutting some of the high/high mid frequencies would do the mix well, especially since the lead and rhythm guitars are both fighting for the same frequency range. I'm also not hearing much in the way of low end. Bass would definitely help flesh out the overall track. The drums are indeed pretty darned quiet, and might serve better to bump the volumes/compress/mix them a little higher overall.

Certainly not a bad take, and I envy your lead playing as I'm fairly bad at leads.

Okay so i found out that for some reason the bass had been muted while rendering (dammit). Also i changed the EQ on the rhythm guitars and drums a little, here's the end result.
That bass really gives everything so much more body how can i forget to unmute it xD

The first mix was done pretty fast using old presets (not too clever)
