Sooo... is this still a thing that is still happening? I sent a thing in (though it might of been in the wrong email).
When is it being released?
This kind of stuff is helpful.

This is very poorly put together. ClaviSound said why on the last page.

This will not succeed as an album unless you put some more work into it and address the problems of this event.

ClaviSound wrote:1. What expansion chips will be allowed, if any? For example, in Famitracker you can use the default chip (2A03/2A07), or you can use expansion chips like the Konami VRC6 or Nintendo MMC5. I'm fairly sure custom expansion chips exist as well. Where should the line be drawn?

2. What's the length limit on submissions? That goes for both minimum and maximum length specifications. I'm a little bit confused on what "12" means for length limit. Twelve minutes is of course what I'm assuming, but maybe I'm wrong? Does it mean twelve possible track submissions from each individual? Twelve songs on the album? Is it the number of times I have to re-read it before I realize what you mean?

3. Submission deadline is January 1st, but when can we expect the album to be published, and where? Are we allowed to upload full tracks to our YouTubes/SoundClouds before the album drops, or only teasers (or not at all)? And finally, is it free or monetized, and if it's the latter, where da money goin to, dawg?

These questions were asked in early December, DJColeTPony2 you didnt answer them. If you're going to organize threads and projects on MLR you need to answer questions and most importantly validate that the work of others are NOT going into your own pocket.

hahaha

last I recall this place was about making your own music, not trying to get other people to make it for you

i am glad a brony chiptune album did not come to fruition, i could not have trusted it

goodbye

I'm pretty sure the 12" refers to the length of the old LP's, with 12" being the length of an EP. At 72 rpm, which is standard for the format, this equates to roughly 25 minutes

This is a totally serious post, and very relevant to the issues at hand

Oh Interrobang Pie, you're such a Doctor Robotnik!

Last I recall, this place was still about making your own music as well. Almost every album organized in the way of this particular topic is free; the only one I can think of off the top of my head that isn't is Evdog's New Sincerity project, and everyone whose music is featured on that album will be slated to receive royalties. (And there are charity albums pretty regularly, where the proceeds are simply rerouted to a fund.) Mostly these albums serve the purpose of "hey if you can do this, here's an opportunity to showcase that talent beyond just a YouTube upload." Sometimes they come to fruition, sometimes they don't, but I haven't yet seen a project where someone has literally said "I will be getting all the money from this" and people have been okay with it, except for maybe a joke album here or there because really.

Interrobang, you've always struck me as a very silly person who is silly to the point where I can't tell what's silly and what's super-silly. Most people on this site (at least, I hope) still do make music entirely of their own volition. I myself have composed chiptune, albeit not very well, and while I wouldn't claim it my forte (or even a genre I'm good in) I would certainly not mind putting together another one if I had some form of motivation to do so. I hope I'm not the only one that says contests, albums, and challenges are one way of spurring that motivation.

That said, I get de-motivated when a certain someone forgets vital details about an album and then neglects to answer them when questions are raised. I doubt I'll be participating in this particular venture even with the extended deadline, but all the same, these types of things do have their place, and even huge collaboration & compilation albums like Balloon Party started out as the mere idea of "what if we got a buttload of people together and made an album?"
