What's the best compliment you've received on a song?

We're all a talented bunch of folks and it's always nice to hear someone tell us that. What is your favorite compliment(s) you've heard about a song you produced/composed?

My favorite is when I asked for a critique on a French House song and someone responded saying that I should chop up the original song more instead of just using a straight sample (since a lot of times French House is made from sampling a funky-ish song and adding elements to it). That made me happy because everything I made was original so (though I know it's far from the truth) someone thought I sounded professional.

Just recently, I released a song called "Background" that contained (imo) the best writing for a rap song I'd ever penned. One person whom I'm pretty sure has been subscribed to me for at least half a year had mostly remained silent on every subsequent video I'd uploaded, but this time s/he chose to come out and comment, "Your flow and delivery have improved so much, and this is just perfect in both of those respects." It really made my heart shine knowing I was able to make, at the very least, one rap song that was really, truly mine, and not just "another verse" over a beat.

I once had a guy with chronic insomnia tell me he used my music, successfully, to help him sleep. That was pretty fantastic. As someone who makes mostly downtempo/chillout stuff I really can't think of a better compliment than that, haha.

I also had somebody buy my first two songs, whom I was friends with. We have since separated paths. I know where to find him and stuff, so I sorta wish I could refund him the $3 he spent on my music since it wasn't very good at that point, lel. But it was still an awesome moment and an exceptional spirit boosting thing.

Anyway, back on topic. I think brony music will increase in quality with the new season, especially if we host more events like balloon party to increase traffic. We also have a ton of great new musicians joining (CitricAcid I'm looking at you) so the quality hasn't really decreased, just the audience has.

I put my Professor track out and caught SGap and Derpidity saying how they loved it in a skype chat when i wasnt around. One of the few times I've gotten audible praise from way up above even if it wasnt public.

I must say getting postive feedback from Adamthewalker is always nice as he seems like a really cool guy and one of the few people that takes the time to write out something thoughtful (from a guy who makes great music himself).

I was like, bro, I'm not even professional, but still, it was cool to know that I'd inspired someone to try making music based on my own. Really put a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest.
