<Deep Dubstep> <Non-Pony> Ruins

Postby PropellerEscape » 15 Dec 2013 12:11

I've been working on this thing since about late August, and I totally forgot about it until a couple of days ago. I decided to try and finish it sometime and this happened.

Damn dude, great intro. The atmosphere it creates is just unreal. My only complaint with the track is it gets a little bit repetitive, but other then that its really impressive.

Intro: Loved the feel and cyberpunk'esque atmosphere you're doing here. The wobbly bass that comes in are very elegantly put in. They feel neither overpowering or out of place, which is a problem I see in a lot of dubstep.

The break is a welcome change of pace, as I was starting to get a tiny bit bored by the end there. Luckily you changed it up just in time.

I think this would be cool if you had added more variation after that, though. It feels a bit samey, if you get my drift? I get that it's deep atmospheric dubstep, but a bit more going on would have raised this to the next level for me.

PS: Made me remember the Carrington Institute Levels from Perfect Dark ;)

Gonna go ahead here and kinda echo what the others said;

Overall tone and composition is badass. The mood was conveyed wonderfully, a nice atmosphere was set, all that jazz was nailed to a T. Repetition is definitely the downside though, because it does get a bit tiring on the ears after a little while, which is understandable considering the genre in general usually gets a bit repetitive. You've got good detail going on through the song, there's a level of depth that's well kept, and the percussion is really sick.

Nice job, I mean I personally have some preference based stuff, but it sounds really well produced.
