<pony><original><prog metal> The Madness Within

Postby EpiPony » 18 Oct 2013 08:45

First post! after having lurked my body is ready :D
Anyway i usually make rock/metal/stuffs with guitars.
Got a new 7 stringer, which whom i made this haken-scalethesummit-inspired tune which obviously fits pinkamena brilliantly. Also yes, it djents.

Give it a listen, review if you want. It would be appreciated :)

Not good with metal, but quite the atmosphere! Those drums need to be louder though.

Dude this is crazy :3 there's so much going on haha. I'll see if I can give I a bit of a review later on when I have access to an actual computer.

How many guitars do you have going here?

Epipony... Epiphone...y .... What gear you using?

Haha thanks, i would love some feedback :3
The most guitars i have going on at the same time are 4, 3 of which double tracked. double tracking is the best. :P

and yes, my main gear was an epiphone LP and an epiphone T-bird for the longest time, just switched to a VGS 7 string tho, but the epipony also kinda was for epiphany, something i've been trying to accomplish musically since the beginning :)

Haha np, thanks for the advice anyway, i usually tend to turn my drums down way too much without any reason. idk it just happens, maybe because it's usually the only sampled instrument :P

Would you believe me that if in that little list with te Epipony and Epiphone-y I originally had Epiphany? :3

Haha, yeah. Well, as it turns out I wasn't able to get to a computer. I might not be able to tomorrow either. I promise you though that I will try and give you some feedback on your track.

And les Paul, nice! I was looking at Gibson Lp's the other day, and while they're a beautiful guitar I found the body was really heavy and unbalanced and just not my style of guitar. I'm actually looking towards buying either a Gibson korina Flying V or an epiphone korina V but with replaced, better pickups. And I played a 7-string for the first time the other day. Really fun, but I was in the guitar shop so I got nervous and forgot almost every song I can play ;-;. Have to say, VGS doesn't ring any bells, but that could be cos
I'm tired. I'll check it out later and see if I recognise it.

Heh. 4 guitars. That'd be a pain to play live haha. I think two of my songs have 5 guitars for either most the song or just parts here and there. In trying to get away from that kind of style though. At the moment I'm trying with Rhythm left, Bass centre, Lead right. I think it sounds nicer and I haven't even double tracked them :3

Oh no problem, i wasn't expecting too much anyway :P
VGS is indeed a pretty small company, but they have evertune bridges (amazing stuff)
About the les paul, yeah it's really heavy but i don't really play anything live atm so it wasn't really a problem. I just record, nothing live. Went out of tune pretty fast tho, even with the grover tuners and the TOM bridge. The evertune i have new never does that :P
The v's are a pain to play sitting tho, from what i've experienced. i always play sitting down, so they are not for me. They look cool tho.
Guitar shops make me nervous all the time, you're not the only one :P mistakes everywhere. also the guitars there feel...idk overplayed and the strings feel dirty most of the time. It's a shame.
No rhythm right tho? doesn't that sound really empty? Whatever suits you i guess haha

Ohhh yeah, now this is what I'm talkin' about! MASSIVE fan of all things prog, djenty and eclectic. It's like you've combined my love of Animals as Leaders, Periphery, Dream Theater and BTBAM. Love it.

Only cons are the production which needs to be cleaned up a bit and lead guitar, which could have used a little more vibrato and tone.

Haha yeees, i'm glad you like it :D
believe it or not, AaL and Periphery are the bands that got me into metal :P
never been much of a DT guy tho. BTBAM is awesome and i've seen them live twice.
About the cons, i know exactly what you're talking about, my playing is always pretty sloppy and that makes everything sound more dirty and messy than it has to. I've been playing guitar for only like one, one and a half year. I don't expect my playing to be perfect just yet :P
About the leads, well...i'm just gonna agree with you and say that i'm still working on my tones and playing. Never really mastered that vibrato yet :)
