VGS is indeed a pretty small company, but they have evertune bridges (amazing stuff)
About the les paul, yeah it's really heavy but i don't really play anything live atm so it wasn't really a problem. I just record, nothing live. Went out of tune pretty fast tho, even with the grover tuners and the TOM bridge. The evertune i have new never does that :P
The v's are a pain to play sitting tho, from what i've experienced. i always play sitting down, so they are not for me. They look cool tho.
Guitar shops make me nervous all the time, you're not the only one :P mistakes everywhere. also the guitars there feel...idk overplayed and the strings feel dirty most of the time. It's a shame.
No rhythm right tho? doesn't that sound really empty? Whatever suits you i guess haha
