Hi, this is my first post here in MLR. This has probably already been done a million times, but fuck it.

I'd explain shit about it but I don't think anybody really cares. Feel free to tell me what you think of this thing.

The vocals seem really toned down behind the track. It gives a very muffled sound that is kinda unpleasant. Also, using the same synth through the whole song makes it seem really repetitive. I'd try adding in something else to make it more interesting.

For the drop at the 1:00, you have everything set to actually do a breakdown, but its kinda dissappointing as is. The one at 2:22 is pretty good, but the first one is lacking. Its basically the same thing as before but with a different drum beat. Overall the song sounds kinda repetitive and needs more variation. Also, try working on your vocal mixing to bring out the words.

Also, it sounds like you added some compressor to the master, because the whole thing sounds very smushed and the upper and lower frequencies seem like they've been dampened.

I had to lower the vocals because the acapella I was using wasn't all that great and if I put it any louder the instruments from the original song come in.

I don't really understand what you mean by the first drop "set to be a breakdown" but whatever.

The repetitiveness of my music is one of my biggest problems when it comes to producing, so I'll try to get that fixed next time.

Thanks so much for the feedback, it really helps.

I know about having to deal with instruments being in the way. The way to fix this in FL is to open the sample in Edison, find a play is playing just instruments, take that as the "Noise Profile" and clean the track. Repeat that for each part where there is instruments (even if it seems quiet enough, it helps clean out all the frequencies). Then, take a Parametric EQ and cut the lows and really highs and boost the singning frequencies (In this song its going to be in the 10kHz-50kHz I think, I'd have to check, but with PEQ its fairly easy to figure it out). Thats how I clean out my acapella tracks when there is noise

Thank you, I'm fixing this as we speak. Also, could you explain what you mean by having the first drop set to be a breakdown?
