<remix> Nightmare Night (and a question.. or rather a story)

Hi everyone. As you can see, I did a remix. But I'm somewhat conflicted about it and I don't know how to put my mind at ease. I'll try to make my point quick.

So, I don't know if I like this remix... no, that's not it. Of course I like it. It's like my child.
What I actually mean is: I don't know if I should like this remix.

It sounds weird but hear me out.

So, I started to work on this remix awhile ago but than I got sidetracked and than life, and blah blah blah. The point is, I was working on it throughout 3 month and all that time I wasn't listening to the original, so I could chase my own vision. And than I finished it. And than I went and listened to the original. And I felt like it putted me to a shame. And not because my remix is bad or I didn't succeeded in what I wanted to do with it, but because I completely forgot how complicated the melody was and it feels like I dumbed it down too much.

Though, I think that just sound quality -wise it's really good, a composer in me feels like it's almost disrespectful to do it this way. And the funny part is, that I had so much trouble actually composing it, and if I just had listened to the original and just copied some lines or got some inspiration from it, it would have been so much faster and easier, and I wouldn't have this disrespectfulness problem.

So, yeah. I'm a derp. Live and learn.

But the question still remains. Is this remix disrespectful?
The idea behind it was, as you can hear, to make it a sort of Limp Bizkit-ish. So in some parts I simplified it on purpose, because simplier melodies are more engaging in that type of music. But I did it way too much and in parts where it's actually not required. It's pretty much a wasted opportunity to make a better remix. Not that I hate it the way it is... just... yeah.

What do you think?

This song is good and you should feel good.

Honestly my only gripe is that the vocals in general are a little quiet, and Mic's voice sounds a bit off, but I assume that's more his recording than your mixing.

Congratulations, you've produced the only Nightmare Night remix I can sit all the way through and not feel like I just wasted three minutes of my life :3

I can't feel my brain.
