Well, I like how the technique section was split into more specific categories, it should make shit a lot easier to find in that arena, but I really, really don't like that basically all actual music posts are being outsourced. BMD never felt like a place to show off discogs (in fact, as I understand it, the point there is to only show off a few tracks), and EQBeats is just another place to have to upload tracks; I'd much rather share a Youtube or Soundcloud embed than have to upload somewhere else.

So yeah, I'm kinda being a whiny bitch about this. Shame, too, I kinda felt like getting back into this forum, but both subforums I've recently posted in have now been archived. So at the very least it'll take a bit more time for me to warm back up to this place.

This is actually the same as my main complaint, plus in the new layout the only forum I use (Challenges, Contests and Events) is at the bottom...I have to ACTUALLY SCROLL

BMD isnt a discography site but its a smart place to be listed anyway (if you make brony music). If you want to make a larger statement on who you are or what you make use a mlp wikia entry which few are doing (and i'll link that on bmd too).

I personally think that the new changes are quite interesting. the new layout will take a little bit of getting used to, but really I think it's an improvement.

I quite like the changes myself, its certainly a step in the right direction for the site and as we get used to it we can keep making suggestions and edits.

Ok, my biggest concern is that not all of the subforums created will be used frequently and will sorta sit...

I'm sorta questioning some of the choices for the additional mods that have been selected. I'm really liking the 4thImpulse mod thing, but I'd really appreciate knowing the thinking process behind why so-and-so is a mod. Like, why is DerpyGrooves a mod, for example? The most I know of him is that he posts a lot of philosophical and theoretical stuff and argues with a few people on this forum for being "wet sandwiches". Is there some sort of background that I didn't know about DG that would qualify as a mod? And moreover, why aren't some people, like me, or 9V or Bigglesworth mods? Does it have a lot to do with the amount of music experience that the new (the 10 new mods? [Circuitfry] ~Ten more moderators. DONE. from the only announcement thread at this time) mods have? We seem to have a surplus of mods controlling the 15 people who seem to frequent here, haha.

A few other notes:

The instant reply thing for some subforums isn't there, 4th told me that you guys are working on that, so thanks.

The thing that tells you there has been a new reply posted while you were writing a reply is gone for some subforums, so I'll post and then there will be a post or two since I started writing my post. Hopefully you're fixing that too?

Overall at first glance I find this forum in general to be less appealing than before and it looks more confusing, so I'm hoping I'll get over this as the changes start to grow on me, but we'll see.

Obviously lots of thought went into picking the mods, while I don't understand some of the choices, this is Circut's site, and I trust that he made the right decisions here. I think a lot of us would love the chance to be mods, me included, but in the end the choices were people well known in the community for being helpful and fairly professional.

There are some flaws with the design, but remember this is just stage one, and there are a lot more changes on the way.
