Rejected & Revived is a project started by yours truly. It is essentially a compilation album of tracks that were rejected from Rainbow & Rooted's Four's Fall Down and One Last Shot in an attempt to gain the artists of the songs more attention and do the songs more justice than Rainbow & Rooted did.

R&R was a disappointment to some because of the "lack of quality control" for the album and the fact that so many good tracks were rejected from the album for seemingly pointless and/or unfair reasons. The fact is, although R&R was really quite a wonderful colection, there really were a LOT of submissions that were turned down, some of which are very good and deserve more attention, just maybe not from Rainbow & Rooted!

Rejected & Revived features 39 songs that were not featured on Rainbow & Rooted Four's Fall Down or One Last Shot for varying reasons. Some of the tracks did not match the theme well. Others missed the deadline. Whatever the reason may be, these tracks and the artists behind them are ready for some more attention and Rejected & Revived does just that!

Rejected & Revived is 100% free to download as, unlike the original R&R albums, proceeds would not be going towards convention admissions and travel costs for various brony conventions if I enabled them. Fans DO NOT have the option to pay for the project.


I also make a small appearance in the album as a bonus track!


ALL SONGS HAVE PERMISSION FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE ARTISTS TO BE FEATURED ON THIS ALBUM.

Ok. Kinda feel like some people may be against it for whatever reasons, but who cares about that.

Also, seeing as the Afterparty album for R&R wasn't actually an Afterparty styled album like this one, but a "make a new track in a short time and ignore mixing as a big screw you to people who care about mixing" type dealio, I reckon this isn't a bad idea.

Well, it's not like I'm doing this without permission from the original artists. I'm not affiliated with Circuit or anything like that. It's just my own version of The Lesser Knowns, really. Who would shut it down?

A 2nd chance for those who nearly made it into R&R to fix what previously was wrong with their song is my understanding of it.
The difference from after party is that you actually had to brush up your song (VIP'ing it) or make a new song eliminating the previous mistakes in your last song.
Instead of being just a "worse version of ballon party" like afterparty was, OLS actually had potential to become a full sequel seeing as the quality could be as high as the others.

Actually, the songs that will be featured are completely untouched. They are the exact songs that were submitted to Rainbow & Rooted or were finished prior to it. There are a few artists who said they didn't want their songs featured here until they were improved upon, so they unfortunately won't be featured at all.

But with OLS, they ended up saying, no we're not touching up on the tracks we rejected for a second album, we want a new track that shows off how the mix isn't everything in making a song good.

This isn't a bad idea but its also a bit late in the game. I'm not really sure who would want to see more albums from that project. This would be #3 and another double album length. Almost everyone who got rejected released their track anyway so these would not be new to people who follow them. A compilation still could give some people a chance to hear what WAS rejected and still good (yep there were plenty that were) but i'm not sure that people will readily jump and download it as the momentum has died and this is an unofficial extension. Circuitfry organized both editions so its weird from someone who just registered to post this on his forum and make sort of a bootleg version of his series. Plus the compilations always generate some revenue and i don't want that going into somebody's pockets.....

I'm all in agreement that a lot of submissions which just missed the cut should have been ON the follow-up and didn't NEED massive amounts of further remixing but i think those who missed out would rather want to forget Rainbow & Rooted then try to revive it via a THIRD and unofficial edition.

I dunno what do you guys think....?

I was rejected for R&R, but I have no need in joining this project.
R&R had a chance to do OLS, and in my opinion, failed very hard.
I'm not giving it another shot. R&R is over for me.

Wasn't After Party supposed to be the rejected tracks, fine tuned until they were 100% No Feeble Cheering ready, but past the album release, if you understand what I'm saying

In all honesty, I had started planning this a week after R&R came out, but I realized there were a few tracks that missed the deadline that would be good to feature as well. I decided now would be the best time to start as most of the unfinished tracks are now completed. There's still a few tracks that aren't done yet that would've been nice to have (Lavender Harmony's, AdamTh3Walker's, etc.), but for the most part I think it's ready to kick off now.

Some of these tracks are highly unknown and, in the end, the idea of this project is solely to get them more attention. That's why I'm pitching the project on MLR, despite me never using the site before. If it was in everyone else's favor, I could completely scrap the idea of it being an in-spirit sequel to R&R and just have it as a random compilation album. I don't really mind.

Also, since this is going to be hosted on Bandcamp, I can set the album to Free Download so customers are forced to pay nothing. I don't want any money from this project!

I've got to question this a bit, no offense to you but having them transferred to a PayPal account supposedly to be never used seems a bit fishy don't you think? (I know what you said above and I don't think your intention was to take any money it just seemed weird)
I think it'd be better to just disable any sort of donation of money if your plan is to not use them as you mentioned, seems like people just wasted money otherwise!

There's also the option of charity which would probably require some kind of proof of you donating, but it's a good deed! ^^

@OLS I think they didn't want the same tracks with just a few changes as they actually wanted people to put effort into it whilst taking in the feedback they got on their songs (hence why you could VIP your song)

Now on to the actual album idea.
In my eyes you fave a couple of problems with your idea:
I'm not too sure if this will spark too much interest, seeing as there has already been 3 albums on the theme and this being a little late.

You also face the problem that nearly everyone uploaded their rejected tracks to YouTube already, meaning people have already heard many of the songs worth putting on this album.
I also feel like a lot of the songs not uploaded weren't uploaded because either the artist realized he/she did poorly and don't want any connections with it, or he/she is embarassed of his/her rejection of rainbow and rooted.

Sorry for cutting your idea so much, don't get me wrong I'd actually love for you to prove me wrong on this! ^^

Sorry, I worded that wrong! I meant that if I enabled payment on the album, that's what would happen to the money. I WILL NOT enable payment on the album! I don't want to give people the option to pay. I don't even have a PayPal for the money to be stored to for charity.

Again, I wouldn't mind releasing the album as a separate project from R&R altogether. I really don't care! It's just that I collected some absolutely amazing rejects that only have like 16 views on YouTube. I just want them to be heard through the help of a compilation album, and Balloon Party/Rainbow & Rooted seemed like the direction to take! In no way do I want the album to be associated with the other R&R projects. I just want it to be in the spirit of Rainbow & Rooted.

Rainbow and Rooted was great, at least a lot better than Balloon Party. I'm sure lots of songs were turned down, but the album already had 55 songs on it. I'm not saying I'm against this album, just that IMO R&R was anything but a disappointment.

Oh, absolutely. People complain about R&R because it had a few bad songs on it, but it had so many fantastic songs I don't understand how people could complain!

Yea, do this. Before OLS changed direction, this is what we were doing-- and we all were doing pretty well at judging every rejected R&R track. There are tons of incredible entries that deserve more recognition even still.
