Pinkie Pie Electro House

Postby randomblockfilms » 12 Dec 2011 08:50

Well I am kinda new here to start of :P Hi there!

Anyway, this is my first attempt to make an electro house, dance style song. I think it sounds decent but it still doesn't sound really finished. I thought maybe I could get some good critizesm to make it sound better! Plus the second half, I think, sounds better cause halfway through making this, i learned about sidechain compression. which i think is the coolest thing EVER!. Ok maybe the the coolest thing ever but its pretty sweet!

Well... I know next to nothing about electronic music, but in terms of composition, it could do with some more repetition. Right now it feels like two songs pasted together. It could do with a return of the first half! that was a pretty nice riff you made, and it deserves a bit more ear time maybe. It would also make it feel like one cohesive piece of music!

Hope that helps!

This is pretty good :D I like the use of that "wahwahwah" scratchy dic sound... How'd you do that? it sounds cool :D
Also, I pretty much agree with everything overkillius said, try making the transition smoother by having some elements in the first half be in the second half too, and vice versa :D

thanks guys!

the transition is pretty bad. i was debating weather or not to separate these two parts into 2 different songs or just keep them together. i kept them together simply because i was lazy. :P and to that wahwah effect, i used on of those LFO filters and a bit crusher.

This is nice stuff. My vote would be to split it into two different songs. Both halves have some great themes that would stand well on their own.

I like it, as people said you could split the two or have that first part suddenly re-enter. some nice sounds on these though and its catchy. maybe some more vocal samples throughout too. :D
