I would really recommend using skype chats as the way to get feedback on tracks if thats what you're after. MLR has a plague of people dropping their own tracks to get seen but w/o people planning on giving feedback or ever doing so. Until that changes just stop embbedding every thread with your tracks OR make a concentrated effort to listen to others and give that feedback (not just one track but several) throughout. This place can't work if people don't GIVE and take.

@RYSE [Momentum]: Nice intro. I really like the arp, but the flute-like thing in the background clashes harmonically with the arp; you might want to straighten out your chording if you choose to keep this one. When the drums come in at 1:03, they seem really hallow; no real punch. I’d suggest you boost the low end and cut some of the highs. Also, the flute thing needs a little more depth, as it is the only melodic content in the song. Either EQ and boost it slightly, or add a little chorus to it.

[Thin Air]: Overall, I think you should go for this as your song. The intro needs a little work. Again, the lazerish sound clashes harmonically with the organ. Also, the fade out effect seems to panned left, and that’s a little disorienting. I like the drums on this one better to, but again, it lacks depth. Try boosting the kick’s lows and the snare’s highs. Just focus on getting your spectrum filled out to give more depth to the song, and this will be great.

@Ocular Invisible [Generic Pone Musik]: This sounds really good, but the beep is a little annoying after a while. Maybe put a LP filter on it and just adjust it slightly to add variation. The noise sweeps you have in the background really kinda just blend into the background; maybe add a little resonance so they stand out. Also, the transition at 1:44 was a little rough – perhaps a drumroll or melodic buildup would ease into the next section. (I love the drop you did with the vocoder, though; that was great). I feel in the drop section is a little repetitive; nothing really happens. I’d recommend adding a little variation in how the lead plays; take the melody you have now, and reverse it every third time, and it’d be good.
Overall, I really love this. Keep going with this!

Bronytastic [Feelsy]: I really love the synth design here, but the melody you start with is a little disoriently atonal. Also, after 0:36 you are doing a phaser effect with the lead synth where it pans back and forth… get rid of that. It’s really annoying when wearing headphones. Also, you have a lot to fit the high end of your song, but the lower end seems a little lacking. Try adding a bit more low end to the kick to fill it out, and maybe add another synth to play the chords in the lower end like you have after 1:14.

Well it surely goes with stylish...
I wouldn't call it gabber though. Call it Speedcore under construction.
The kick is interesting. It somehow has a drive without the punch that the Hardcore/Speedcore kick is so well-known of.
The melody that comes in later on is totally different. I must say that I love the sound of it, because nobody in the Speedcore scene that I know of has ever done a melody in that way. Most of the time it's weird repetitive Acid, but never really a driving not-superdark melody. I dig that.

It could easily become something really epic

EDIT - I think that it wouldn't look bad inbetween tracks on the not-yet-released Rainblood & Vomit. If finished and submitted though.

...As a base, though, how does this sound? I'm trying to go for a kinda chaotic/ fast feel

First of all, the intro seemed kinda random to me and not very fitting, you mentioned you'd be adding something to the start though. Loved it when the melody kicked in, and I enjoyed how the melody progresses through the song, especially at 1:00. It sounds good at 0:20 when the drums kick in, but I think it'd sound better if three was some sort of subtle transition to the drums. I think the snare could be louder/more powerful. I didn't really notice it until 1:35. I thought the slowdown at 2:00 was cool. The pluck synth changes about a lot, but the sound of it gets a bit repetitive. I'm not sure on this one, but the plucks at the start could sound a bit better if there was a slight bit more reverb - just a l'il. Also, a longer intro before the kicks kick in may be good too, it felt as if it progressed too fast, for me - although maybe that adds to the chaotic feel of the track (maybe have it start off even slower and speed up to how it is at the moment). I enjoyed the melodies in this though! Definitely sounds chaotic and fast to me. (hope this helps I'm no good with feedback)

@Tranquil: Okay, right off the bat, the low-passed synth at the beginning is loud; its actually distorting when played through my headphones. The music box is kinda loud too. I'd add a slight attack in resonance to dampen that. I don't really know what you are trying to do in the section after 0:55... there are "wubs", but I have to say they sound more like monitor distortion than anything else; I'd really look at getting rid of those; they really don't fit. Find another way to add your sub-bass (maybe a timpani?)

Get rid of that panning effect on the electric guitar. Its torture to headphone users; if you want to do stuff like that, do it subtly. Also something I'm noticing right now in the 2:22 section is that that music box thing has a hell of a lot of reverb on it. I think you can cut some of that out.

The trumpet your bringing in around the 2:50 is practically the exact same frequency range as the music box, and they are clashing something fierce. I'd look into EQ'ing the trumpet so that it has its own range, or cut out the music box (maybe bring back the bass or stings from the beginning instead... break it up some).

The strings that were brought in for all of 30 seconds ended really abruptly; really all I can say. The recapitulation where you bring everything back... its a good idea, but its execution needs work. All the instruments are crossing frequency ranges and muddling each other up; and with all of them having a ton of reverb... its just really messy.

Really, this song needs quite a bit of work. A starting point I'd recommend is get rid of ALL the reverb; Every last bit! Do all your mixing from there. EQ everything, and make sure that each instrument has its own range (I'd use a spectrum analyzer on EVERYTHING; not just the master) to make sure nothing clashes. After all thats done, then add in your effects.

As a final note, I'd really look into adding more variation. Even though there were a lot of sections, nothing ever actually happened. There was no build-ups or break downs or thematic transitions except for at the very end. You had your "wub" things at the beginning; maybe hold those for a while, then when your bringing in the strings, instead of just stopping them, turn it into a drop. Add some variation and some excitement to the piece.

Here's my original entry for R&R, I'd like the feedback on what I could do to help make it better, because honestly I think the song content itself was good I realize the mixing isn't good, but i'm trying to learn to mix better to help with that. Also, why exactly can we not use the rejected songs of R&R? I've heard some and besides mixing problems, they were great. It seems unfair to take out the reason some songs didn't make it, and then disallow those same songs. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my song, and can give some constructive criticism on it
