I... Um am just another brony... who likes to write song lyrics in his notebook... and recently has been trying to sing them (with no formal training). Basically i have heard about this site and know that some bronies who know something about music post here. I just would like an opinion on some stuff i uploaded to my youtube. I have no Formal training and am singing without any background music of any type, so dont be afraid to give me hard criticism or crush my dreams.

(Note: I am a Brony. I (try) to make music. but i do not make "pony music". i just have never felt the urge to write or sing about ponies, though this fandom's musicians have been a very big inspiration to me)

Anyways, I'm currently not in the state of criticising others' work, but perhaps I'll look into this sometime else.

I would never ever have done that myself in my starting time because it would only make everything worse for me, but I figure it could work for others. So you could try that yea.

Keep in mind that this is mostly a "pony music" focused site. Most people (but not all) make music with that in mind so consider whather you're up for that or not as it really determines what level of dedication you have to the community, who you could work with, and who your fanbase is. If you want to avoid that, that's your choice but it always puzzles me when people choose not to partake here in what everyone else is doing as that's kind of the point. Anyway best of luck, good vocalists are always something that's in short supply..

Found the lyrics a bit too transparent to be exciting, while I suck at lyrics in general, I found them a bit too plain and shallow to be truly intresting., and the same could be said about the melody I could kinda "hear" accompany it. I dunno, it wasnt bad, but it wasnt anything special.

You're probably right. I'm usually better and more heartfelt when the subject of the song isnt predetermined

I took a listen to your stuff. You sound pretty good but you need to work on your breathing and your, well, not LOUDNESS, but there's a proper way to really project your voice. You should look up some info on breathing and on singing from the diaphragm.
