Well I think you can still write 'hard' genres, but the actual lyrics can't be about wanting bash someone up and mutilate their body, like a lot of the lyrics to songs from those genres seem to be. Although saying that, previously these albums are mostly on the softer side.

So I got around to developing the cover more based on some criticism. Thoughts? Any further criticism is welcome.

Wow... just wow... that's awesome man. The only thing I can pick is that I think the lens flare needs to get shift down a little bit further.

That's neat! The new vector is fantastic, but I think it would work better with the clean, uncluttered look of your original concept. Unflashiness wasn't criticism, a logo should be simple, and you really made it work the first time. I think that the shading, texture and embossment on the pony don't fit the clean design as well, and the pointy, metallic spiral is too aggressive. The lens flare is a bit out of place, but besides that I love the background, very summer sky. But really, for this particular project, our suggestion would be to update your original pitch with the new pony vector, and it would make fantastic art for ABH.

You see, the issue is that most of my music stems from my anger or is themed on insanity. I have made ONE SONG that doesn't, and its a HeartMender remix.

Well, I'm getting into house music, and it's kinda hard to make angry house music....

What's funny is, a few weeks after posting this, I started making house and trance music with upbeat melodies. I'm not sure I'm sticking with it, though, or I'd add it to my "style bit".
