Well I fixed the sidechaining and the clap, and it sounds loads better. I also added a nice little "solo"-esque thing near the end to make up for some of the repetitiveness, and it's gonna have vocals, too. I've put more time and effort in to this song so far than I ever have before. It's turning out very nicely.

Thoughts?

Not bad, but it sounds a little barren in the low frequencies (low-mid area, around there). There's some dissonance in the second half, I don't quite know if it's the melody or the other synth, but it's there. Also, I had to look back again to see if you had a snare or clap in there, it's very quiet. Try doing the same thing Ocular did with the sidechaining and see if you can bring that snare to the forefront more. Shouldn't be overpowering, just more noticeable.

Well, mine is done.
One question: whether we need to send two versions of a submissions (with drums and without it) for this time, or not?

I'll ask HMage when I get back from school. Or if you have his skype you could ask, which would be awesome and a lot quicker because school ends 6.5 hours from now.

Looking for some feedback. I'll come back to this in like a week with fresh ideas; this is just what I was able to grind out today.

I can't stand writing house drumlines anymore so I went with a moombah/club rhythm. And I played around with formant filters lol.
if you need to contact me, you can do it via tumblr or email ([email protected])

Formant filters, lel. I'm not a huge fan of them because of their fairly distinct sound, though modulating the X and Y with an LFO or envelope can produce some nice (or weird, in the case of a WIP of mine) vowel sounds. Either way, my favorite filter setup is a bandpass with high resonance, with the frequency being modulated. Produces some nice wet, organic sounding wobbles.

I'll get you and Ultimate some feedback tomorrow.

Nine Volt, I did what you said and Lavender said there's too much sidechainig. I think I'm gonna have to either roll with her or meet in the middle.

Here's what I got with your suggestion. This is from a few days ago. (this is the one with too much side chaining, by the way)

One more update to the rules:
When you submit your song, please include in the email your artist name as you want it to appear on the album, the length of the song, the subgenre of house (if you know it, it's not necessary though), the BPM, and the song name as you want it to appear on the album. If you don't have "(Original Mix)", I'm going to add it.

So do we all still think June 5th or whatever is a good deadline? Or should I push it back a month to account for R&R?

So I have a question because i'm at a dilemma and don't know what to do:

I have these two house WIP's that I was going to finish and try to get on an album. I wanted to do this album and Derpy's Wings 2, too. What would happen (hypothetically speaking, of course) if the same song got on both of these albums? Would it matter?

Don't use the same song for both albums. If you have 2 WIPs then why not send one this way and one over to DW2?

Yeah, that's what I figured i'd do. But I don't know which ones should go to which album. Neither of them are pony related (I don't really like doing pony related music). I mean, I could give one of 'em a pony title, and call it a pony song, but, meh.
