I've been recently looking at getting an analog synth and then I discovered modular synths... So I've decided that I want to start building one... the problem is I don't really know what to start with, in terms of starter kits... I'm also probably going to build my own case for it or buy a Buchla case... oh yea I'm looking at Eurorack with 3.5mm connectors

... So yea any help would be appreciated

I have planned out a modular synth I plan to order later this year, I will, however, be going the
.com direction rather than a eurorack system for a few reasons.
Starting out you should look at doepfer, they provide cheap costing modules for the eurorack format. You can also buy a
pre-built system as a starting point instead of having to pick and choose and figure out everything before you get your hands on a modular.
A relatively new company called
pittburgh modular is making a good line of eurorack modules and cases. They are on par with doepfer's price but have a more experimental look and sound to them. They as well come in pre built systems to get you started.
If you want a modular synth be sure to have a good amount of money to get you started (and save money for patch chords, midi, audio). The system I am looking at getting will cost $2,080 (Canadian) and will be very barebones, it is a .com system which has an above average build quality over doepfer as well as a much lager physical size than eurorack.
the
.com company also provides a nice financing option, $135 a month for a year and by the end of it you will have a small modular system, they ship you one module/patch chord at a time for that year.
