Yeah I'm still working on the dynamics. I'll keep that in mind.
On the subject of tension, I get this feeling of stress and fear. Not necessarily terror, but a dark, brooding presence. Growing and evolving, always keeping me on my toes. I love that! Emotions as an IV, straight into my brain.
That's interesting. I'm always trying to work on the exact mood that my music is getting across. Music is a lot more complex than "happy vs sad" so exact feedback is always helpful.
Although I like the minimalist approach, which is both elegant and effective, I think I'm missing something. A contrast, a change-up, a difference. Nothing too jarring, but a little extra, to really make the piece shine on its own. Right now, I have the feeling I'm listening to an incomplete background track.
I guess that's a good thing because this whole project is supposed to be more ambient and less melodic. I intended this to be the sonic equivalent to drifting into sleep before descending into a nightmare.
This is your Tremolo project, isn't it? I think it would be very difficult creating something over what's already done here. It is a very interesting project, but I think I'm starting to understand why people don't usually do entire songs in one keyword. I think it's very cool that you're exploring just how much is possible to achieve with a single style, however. As an experiment, at least. As a full piece to be listened to by "listeners" and not "analysts" I think this has big problems.
Well that's discouraging. I didn't get the sense of "big" problems from your other comments. I disagree in that I think it's entirely possible to compose a piece in just one technique since I've heard music accomplish even more with even stricter limitations (such as a single note, only clapping, etc.). The question, I believe, is whether or not this does the same.
But those are my thoughts on the matter. PLEASE do not take me too seriously, as we are oceans away from each other in musical styles and preferences
Don't worry about it.
