This was one of my first attempts at drawing ponies (not even my first! One of the first) and at the time I was pretty proud of it! I didn't know much about my mediums, and was still just figuring out how to use guidelines and all that. This was 6 months ago:
Yeah, that was it. When I looked at other people's drawings, I realized how bad it was. So I just kept drawing. I would look at someone's art and try to copy it from memory after closing it out. I repeated this again and again until I figured out basic styles and tricks, and then I just kept practicing.
This week, I drew my latest two drawings (entirely pencil; the only photo editing was to make the lines darker)
Don't just give up!
