So, as I said a few posts up, I'm making a remix of Fluttershy's Tears by CyberpunkColt. I've made some progress, so I'm just gonna leave this here for you people to listen to:

I think I messed it up somewhere.
DAW: FL Studio 11 (also been messing with lsdj on an emulator)

Overall I liked the progression of it. The drums seemed a bit overpowering, and distracted me from everything else that was going on.

I enjoyed the light, dreamy sound it has. For whatever reason I was picturing Sonic while listening to it :P

I was under the impression that in DnB the drums should have some power to them but okay thanks.

Working on one project is for squares.

Clicky Click

I'm going back to a style I was "comfortable" with, for now.

Making a film score-esque piece that's pretty much just meant to accompany that final hour:

It's also my new senior project

Let's see...a Rainbow & Rooted track, an FiM remix, and an original song which will eventually end up on an album.

Well, I'v got my DnB Rainbow and Rooted track, a metalstep song I'm working on with Black Electric, a sort of progressive house song that will probably stay a WIP forever sadly (I love themelody but have no idea what to do with the rest of the song), a rapstep song that is being difficult because the rapper isn't very good and he's just sooooo monotone but I'm being paid to do it so i can't complain.

I think the pad should be sidechained a bit, or reduced in overall volume, but i think its pretty cool right now

Some kind of chill guitar piece has begun.
I need to locate a decent (and free!) vst that can emulate guitar harmonics. I have a preset in my keyboard, but that does do squat unless I record it oldskool style and all. I guess I could try that though. Give it that "Help-I'm-A-Struggling-Musician" feel.

Completing an EP of a single I made a while ago. And surprisingly, it actually seems like it's going fine with remixes piling in... until zovi sent me a remix and my computer couldn't DL it. I have a playable version, I just don't know if it's the one.

EDIT: This is on top of a demoalbum and a new album consisting of 8 tracks. One of which I moved over to my new EP because I liked it too much and "project 3" failed... for now. I remade keybaord a few times and it's out now, why not 3?

Added some more to this.
The bit playing the melody is just a placeholder.
Not sure what I want actually doing it.

Finally made a good FM bass in Reason just to prove you don't need VSTs to make dubstep basses.

As for actual songs, I'm still working on synth pop. I'm also working on a C418-style song.

Most of my time doing music is currently spent learning up on more advanced theory. Like, I've known all about basic scales and chords for a while, so I decided I wanted to learn more in depth theory 'cause I think it'll help me a lot.

I started work on a new WIP about 3 or so days ago after how long studying synth design. Hopefully it won't be too long until you guys hear from me again. Here, have a sample you guys, tell me what you all think: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/113866541/Sample%201.mp3

Any advice on the drums or guitar itself?
Not concerned with the melody for now.

itroitnyah, if you post that in the music section tomorrow i'll take a look at whatever it is you've made.

Friday is my scheduled feedback-giving day, and I don't have time to listen to it right now, so that's why.
My goal is to be capable of making any kind of music that strikes my fancy, and do it well.

Maybe, but I don't really feel like clogging up the music section with WIPs, lol. I have friends on skype who are willing to critique for me

Polished up a toastbeard entry for YouTube and throwing hopefully at EqD :) looks like some random visitor who usually hates dubstep liked it, so that's a good sign!
