Why is AppleJack fighting Heavy of all people?
In absolute honesty, because Heavy calls people babies and Apple Jack doesn't like that.

Criticism isn't just welcome, it's wanted.

The samples don't sit in the mix that well. As in, they seem to be there for the sake of being there, without any integration into the music. As someone who personally has a hard time with sampling himself, I can't really give you any advice besides trying to put changes in the music around the samples. Automation sweeps, throwing in more elements, using those to build up to a sample or having a sample start one of those changes off. Besides that it's a good sounding house track, I can't hear anything wrong with the mix itself.

I agree with Fermata, the samples don't sound very integrated into the music, it's like they were added on top of the track rather than built into it. And there's not much to complain about in the music itself, though I will say from a subjective point of view that at around 1:25 where there seems to be a drop-type thing, you might want to build it up more and make a more drastic change so when it hits that part, people will go "HNNNNNG that was cool" or something, you know? The only difference i'm hearing in before and after the build up (which could be a little longer itself to create some more tension to release) is a little bit of variation in the drums. It continues on with that reverbing melody that was going before, and I feel like that takes some of the energy away.

Does any of that make sense?
My goal is to be capable of making any kind of music that strikes my fancy, and do it well.
