<WIP> <Pony> <Remix-ish> Failure Success Song

My Youtube channel has been gathering dust, so I'm hoping to finish this one early this week. Not going all out like I normally do, just a simple laid-back upbeat trance remix before I go back to my bigger projects. (Doesn't mean I'm not having a ton of fun on it though!)

On another note, does anyone know the official name of the Failure Success Song? Doesn't sound right to me.

I like it! its got a nice feel to it, accomplishes exactly what I think you were going for.

My only real issue is that I don't really like the bass sound that comes in around 56. It bothers me; I don't think it really sits well with the rest of the instrumentation. I also think it could handle a little bit more emphasis.

also, its not really much a remix of the song rather than an original song that you used the vocals to glitch and some melody, so I wouldn't really call it a remix.

Yay! :D

Really? That surprises me, actually. I kinda like that part. Does it bother you throughout the whole song?

Thanks for pointing that out, I'm gonna have to get some second opinions on this  edit: Talked to a friend about it, he says it's a little too "harsh", texture-wise. Would you agree?

Debatable, but I see where you're coming from. It's more of a remix in spirit, in that the theme I was going for, an inspirational "you can do it"/"success through hard work" kinda thing, is similar to that of the original song (closer to the reprise, really). But you're right, that doesn't exactly make it a remix. I'll fix the thread title and try to think of a more fitting song name.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks a bunch!

Sort of. That whole comment is really more of a nitpick. It doesn't sound bad, just a little out of place. I think I agree that it could be a little softer. It's not really a big deal, I really only mentioned it because you posted it here looking for constructive criticism, and that was the only thing that stuck out to me at all.

Definitely find a second opinion or two. I'm not an adept mixer or producer.

Yeah totally. I just don't really like the term Remix a whole lot, so I personally shy away from using it. Nobody is going to really care in the end whether you call it a remix or not :D

Glad I could be of any assistance. Hopefully 4th or Lavender will pop in here to give you more specific advice.

This is awesome. I'm horrible at chopping up vocals and making them sound like this. It's a really nice song. All the instrumentation sounds good to me.

Your feedback is as good as any! My friend had a similar opinion, and in fact had to listen to it multiple times to hear it when I asked him about it, haha. I softened the bass up a bit with EQ, but otherwise left it pretty much the same.

First of all, holy shit.

And I kinda care! I don't like calling my song a remix unless it's a straight remix, and this song more uses it as an instrument than actually remixes it.

@Lyonize: Thanks for the compliment! Vocal chopping does take a bit of practice, but really it's a lot easier than it sounds and tons of fun once you start getting the hang of it.
