Hooray for public folders!

So basically there's this thing called Back to the Bassics going on right now possibly, so I figured I'd make a track for it. Essentially, the goal of the album is to get people to produce tracks more like 'original' dubstep, you know, like Skream and stuff.

Now, this was made almost a month ago, but I think it's up to standard at least, and since the deadline is so far away I figure I have enough time to get some potential feedback. Before releasing this WIP I had a lot of problems getting the sub not to clip during the drop, but I got it solved. I personally am quite proud of this track, but either way I'm still looking for feedback.

So get to tearing this POS apart, people!

I'm not too familiar with the structure of classic dubstep, so here's some simple feedback.

It feels like the drop takes too long to come in, which is ~ halfway into the song. You've already brought in the drums earlier, which made me listen to see if my sub was activating yet. Perhaps wait to bring in your heavier kick and snare until the build-up. That way your drop is more intense.

Add a little mid-range fluff to your subbass. This isn't brostep, but it sounds just like a sine wave right now. Give your bass some tone and character.

Other than those 2 things, I think it's coming along very well.

Neither am I :P
Apparently it's usually darker and more minimalistic than this, but I felt like adding a pad or five

Alright, I'll see about having lighter percussion towards the beginning and then transitioning into heavier drums at the drop. Truth be told, I'm not sure why I didn't think of this myself

What would you propose adding to give the bass more 'fluff'? I would think something soft-ish, like maybe a triangle wave or something, but I'll experiment and see what appeals to me.

And thanks :D

Yeah, a triangle or square wave to follow the bass's modulation in the mid-frequencies could add some nice flair to it.

Note, I'm talking very, very slight ;)

The first half was, in my opinion, rather droning, but in the same breath I'd be more than willing to tell you that the second half was easily my favorite and I actually found it quite enjoyable.

Thanks :D

I'm thinking I'm gonna end up shortening the first half, but then I'll end up with the problem of a really short song, considering this one is not even 3 minutes. The first part taking up more than half of that time is a problem though, I'll find a way
