<NonPony?><Original>Back to Square One (Feedback)

Postby Penumbrah » 24 Dec 2012 16:31

So a while ago, my computer completely died on me and I had to reinstall everything. Luckily I recovered all my projects, but everything else was gone. However, before I reinstalled all my plugins, I decided to try making a song using nothing but the stock programs FL Studio came with. This is the end result. I might redo some things on here, but it would be great if I could get some feedback on this. Thanks a lot guys!

Sorry to hear about your computer, but it's definitely good you managed to get all of your projects back.

Anyway, I really like the bell sounds the track opens up with, so I think the long notes at about 0:13 sound too square wave-y. It kind of conflicts with the vibe that the bells had, in my opinion.

From 2:17 to 2:35 I'm not a big fan of the sub going on. I feel like just the drums alone give that part enough of its groove, and leaving the sub out would punctuate the drop at 2:54 that much better.

...but that's about it for criticisms. This is a really solid track! I can't find anything that I didn't like in the mixing or anything, and I thought a lot of the drum fills and patterns were really cool and well done. They added a lot to the track.

Nice one. Keep up the good work!
