Searching a music partner

Postby Virusling » 16 Dec 2012 13:14

Hey, people.
I've been on a search for a music partner for some time now. I've been making music for a year now and I'm currently using FL Studio 10. It would be really nice to find one. Thanks for reading c:

Well, good luck with that. Mostly musical partners are people who know each other irl and/or have some sort of bond or relationship that allows them to make music together sufficiently. Asking people on a forum full of people who you possibly don't know very much about will lead to a lot of hassle. It'd be better if you could find a friend that you know in real life, or a friend that you have a good relationship with online and ask that person if he/she wants to produce music with you. If not, then it looks like you'll have to go solo.

Not to discourage you or anything :P good luck, again.

It's true that asking a bunch of strangers on the internet to be your music partner will likely not turn out to be such a fruitful method. However, I'm sure that plenty of musicians here would jump on the chance for a collaboration! That could be a great way to get to know some people, and who knows, if you work really well together with them then you could agree to compose together more in the future.

Also, I notice it's your first post here on MLR, welcome! You should totally link a SoundCloud or YouTube or something on your profile or in your signature so that we can listen to what you've made and stuff. (I myself am curious.)

Another thing you could do if you're looking to get to know more musicians or something would be to contribute to some events here on the forums. Not to mention you could improve some skills and have some fun!

I hope I'm not rambling too much. Good luck with finding others to work with; I hope to see you around My Little Remix in the future. :)

If you make a public thread with a request, you should post a bit more information about you. What kind of genre do you produce, previews of your work (like Lavender said),... You can't expect much answers on such an unkind thread.

Well, but I think this isn't the right way anyway. IMO it's better to get in contact with other producers via more private ways like Skype, not only with the goal to collab with them, but also to get to know more producers, so you can exchange feedback with them.

Im always looking for a good collab, but as some already mentioned.
Asking on the Forum is not a good idea.
Add some on skype, talk with them, show off some of your music and if you get along nicely maybe do a collab.
