Flutter Cannon (A ponified bass cannon)

Postby MogulDash » 09 Oct 2011 13:42

Hello My little remix community,

I just started a few weeks ago toying with Mixcraft, FL studio, and Melodyne, because the brony music community motivated me to start making music. So far I am doing the basics and working my way up into more advanced concepts. As you will soon see in this WIP it is VERY basic. So I present to you guys my first attempt at something musical on the computer:

Flutter Cannon

This is basically just a mashup of Bass Cannon by Flux Pavillion and Sampled content from MLP, and the thing that surprises me the most is that it doesn't sound terrible. I would really appreciate any feedback that could be offered, and any help that can be given...Such as a flutter cannon vocal that I could place over the bass cannon one, or an instrumental only of bass cannon(have not been able to find anything). The synth sample towards the beginning is something I am on the fence about, because I can't decide if it sounds right, or totally goes against the song. It is in there as an experiment so let me know what you think. Here is all 30 seconds of what I have so far, and I will update it to include a longer one farther into the project. So without further delay, I present Flutter Cannon.

Let me know what your thinking. Thanks. I am excited to get started in music production...yay.

Well, it's exactly what you say it is: a mashup of Bass Cannon and samples from MLP. There's not really much feedback I can give.

But it sounds good! The samples go along with the song really well! The synth sample you added is just fine too. Can't wait to hear the finished version!

Hey thanks. Glad you like. That is my number one concern is making sure it is enjoyable for others to listen to, and the samples I am choosing so far sound good. Just looking for second opinions.

Thanks for the motivational push as well.
