<pony><original> Migration

Postby colortwelve » 20 Oct 2012 19:51

A weird little minimal house bit inspired by how tedious it must be to walk after migrating dragons and all that sort of thing. Also, the first thing I've released since I put together my pseudo cloud synth ^_^

Feedback's always appreciated~

This piece was extremely relaxing and, despite the 'sudden' transitions (not really sudden, but I can't put the right word on it), it still flowed really nicely. My only problem is that weird stick glitch thing that pops up randomly at the really calm parts, kind of ruining that tranquil feeling. I feel myself getting pulled into the song, and then all of a sudden, "BALUBLUM!" or something like that, and I'm pushed back into reality. It's like a tease.
Holy hell.
This song effectively demonstrates a strip tease. Huh.
Either way, yeah, that was my only problem. Very nice.

I like the "BALUBLUM"s in the track but think they could be lightly hi passed as they sound slightly muddy. But what they do for the groove of the track is fantastic. I love the bass drum too! Composition is nice, structure; can't complain. Only problem I can see with the track is that the transitions (as mentioned above) are quite abrupt. Simple reversed samples would help so, so, so much. If you wanted to make the transitions even smoother reverb, delay and filters work wonders as well as downlifts/falling effects.

I'm guessing that the drone-like sound is the cloud synth. I think it sounds nice and fits the track very well (or vice versa).

Great job on this!

not my favorite piece by you, but its still rather nice. its rather ambient, and when played softly on my computer it created a nice background for me to get some of my work done. perhaps im just not listening hard enough, but i didnt think the transitions were as bad as they said they were. the melodic flow and build up were placed nicely. overall, nicely done.
