Luna (Insomnia Mode)

Postby RobotPony » 03 Oct 2011 00:42

Hey guys! I decided I got to post here more often and that I have to get better with remixes/making music in Logic. So, after reading Makkon's post from over a month ago for the first time saying we can post our remixes from the remix war here, I have decided I will do so. Some constructive criticism would be great! I know it's not perfect and I won't get better unless I know how to do these things better.

One thing that's of concern to me: some people are saying the vocals are 'slow' yet on-beat and the right number of measures. Yet, I've had other people say that the vocals are just fine. Is this a result of me taking Eurobeat's vocals and slowing them down, or are they actually too slow?

I can hear what they're saying about the vocals. It sounds to me that he sings some of the notes on off-beats, giving the impression that they're off time and yet on beat. Kinda like if you had a 3/4 song and started a note on the 1st and 4th eighth notes (if that makes sense, try it if it doesn't: make the beat every quarter note then play a note on the 1st and 4th eighth notes). That's all I can do to explain this phenomenon.

The vocals are on-beat, when in the original they're off-beat. I don't mind it though, I think it gives it personality, but if you want it to be more like the original you would want them on-beat.
Did you play the guitar? If so what kind of guitar do you have, and how did you record it? It sounds really good.
