My suggestion would still be to try to separate yourself from using samples in your music. It builds bad habits...

Other then that, it's kind of hard for me to give feedback on atmospheric pieces. It either works for me, or it doesn't, and this definitely does. I do like that subtle ringing noise. It helps add a grounding for this, as well as add tension.

I can picture this in a barren dark landscape with a bunch of changelings creeping about. Good job
