First things first: watch this video. Don't question it. Stick with it.
Done? OK, here's a little context.
Steve Roggenbuck is an alt-lit poet from Michigan who wants you to be happy. His poems often appropriate 'found poetry' for the internet age, just as his philosophies appropriate carpe diem for the #YOLO generation. I started watching his videos months ago, appreciating them solely as comedic, but gradually began to understand the irrepressibly positive outlook on life that lay beneath the jump-cutting non-sequiturs (as well as some enlightening views on the internet as a tool for democratising culture, and some great alt-lit). Steve is trying his best to boost everyone around him - to make them more profoundly happy, and aware of the beauty of existing in this world together. When you're boosted, you'll send boosts off into your own social network, creating a global upward spiral of boosting. This is how we can make the world beautiful.
It's not overly complicated, but that's exactly the point. Living a boosted life relies on and encourages sincerity of character, and it's this clarity of expression that has really affected me. Through Steve, I have truly become a happier, more enlightened, more creative, more boosted AND more boosting individual. I want to take this opportunity to share this source of inspiration with you. Maybe you'll walk away confused or uninterested, but maybe, like me, if you give him a chance, you'll boost.
