Let me start by quoting someone,

So where do you lot come in? All you need you to do is download the MIDI, and remix it in your own style. What I will then do is have each remix play one after the other.
...
and the rest is history. :3
Here's the old intermission video for those that weren't attending the RW4 synclisten.
This round, i'm making this thread and arranging the tracks.
Resonant Waves will make the video(s). (thanks~)
The midi stems and some rule demonstrations:
The main template
An altered version
The basic chord progression without anything added
main with added intro (not necessary) and outro (a must)
The rules are about the same as last round:
Don't change the KEY progression. (being the roots of the chords, check the image)
You are allowed to alter the temporal placement of the notes.
You are allowed to either thin them or add more supporting ones that are in the same key/mode.
Don't change the tempo (which is 100BPM) nor the length. (~20 seconds not counting intro/outro)
You can use a different groove (faster, slower, different time signature alignment, ...) as long as the above rules are kept.
You must add an outro to your tracks, let it be short (only a tail suffices too); it must be in the same key as the first part of the template.
You may add an intro, if it is in the same key as the last parts of the template. you can check it by putting down two templates after one another, then checking.
The following image demonstrates things:

Edit: apparently the chords are:
F (C7 F C)
d (a dadd11 d)
F (C7 F eo)
(g) d (dsus2 d)
"I may have misused names for the embellished chords, but you should ignore those anyway!" -Overkillius.
In any case, this is just for posterity, the things i received weren't "out of tune" so idk.
You can write your own melodies on top.
You can make it dissonant or more harmonizing. (hint hint :3)
You may add, edit and remove instruments.
You may change/remove the drumline.
You may scrap the chords. (you still need to abide by the keys though if you have anything melodic in your version)
There are no genre restrictions, but most RW5 rules apply here too, especially the one about not causing ear damage, zovi. :3
pm me your tracks as WAV with your chosen artist name as the filename. (either here or on skype)
WAV bitrate should be 16/44.1Khz minimum. (if you think it's beneficial that you export 32bit float and 192Khz then i'm not stopping you :3)
FL users should render with the option "Leave remainder".
DEADLINE: 31th of August (won't be any more precise than that, so just keep them coming :3) UPDATE: DEADLINE PASSED
Q&A:
Q: Do i need to make a video?
A: Only the audio.
Q: Can i submit more than one entry?
A: Yes you can, but only one per artist will be in the intermission video.
Q: Can i submit even if i'm not participating in the Remix War?
A: Yes you can.
Q: Do i need to not suck at mastering?
A: Nope. If you don't, then less work for me, but i will normalize the tracks to each other, so that won't be much of a problem.
Q: I suck, so i won't even consider submitting.
A: That's not even a question, and it's a silly presumption of yourself, which can be unhealthy. Just submit away, let us* decide if it's good or not.
Q: The MIDI you gave us is horribly dissonant!
A: The MIDI has 3 channels; a piano, a bass and the drums. General Midi has the drums on channel 10, so set it to that, if it isn't already.
update: most common with FL and Fruity LSD, so i fixed the problem by coloring the notes (color=midi channel); should not be a problem anymore.
Q: The chords are all wrong! I will fix them!
A: As long as the root notes stay, sure. Though do realize that if you mess with the first and the last, the flow might be disrupted, killing off the hope yours will fit anywhere. You can also use inverted chords, same thing to me and my ears.
Q: Why couldn't you stick to 90BPM like in RW4?
A: Short answer: Inflation. Long answer: Because i'm not Ipie :3
*: me.
-----------
Also, i received an entry that was faster than intended, but the creator said that it was the same tempo as the midi. the midi tempo might have been off, i have no idea why FL does that; exporting it in that way... :c
So in any case, 100 BPM. that's the correct tempo, doublecheck it :3
Update: so far so good :3
(disregard the apparent differences in the levels, those have been adjusted by me)

Also, of those who are submitting something for the RW5 intermission vids, but haven't yet, i'll need a volunteer who will "close" the video, meaning his outro must be at a different chord from what i asked in the post so it resolves nicely.
Edit: Already got one.
---------------------
Okay, this thing is closed, thank you all, for participating;
the videos will be linked soon.
