I like that idea, 'Chill BP' sounds like an ideal product to me. The Judging should be done, too. 15-20 Tracks i believe should make it up...

Don't use BP. BP caused an oil spill. That is bad publicity. Besides, this is the exact opposite of Balloon Party, amirite?

:p, Basically, but i would prefer if we checked and reviewed the music before we put it in 'Campfire Manephase'. Not to be mean to the people who want to be in the album, but can't. only so the album isn't a 100 track mess.

(the albm name was a jke :p)

We should have around 3 judges. Have we 15 tracks, we should have 4 judges if we choose 20.

(I feel so unexpeirenced, i've never done this kind of thng before T-T)

How are we gonna set this up? We need to set some things:
A name
Judges (picked descreetly- only the judges know who the other judges are)
Tracks can be submitted, an then judges can listen to the song, with an anonymous title to prevent bias
We should figure out a place to host the album (bandcamp seems ideal for this)
Coverart (I know some good graphic artists and if we need to I can whip something up in blender)

But for now let's focus on a name for the album.
Also, who is coordinating this? Satyr? Have a Skype?

Just wait. We need to get a well known sponsor for this album so that it will be taken seriously.

I could ask Aussie if he'd be kind enough to make a post on the BP facebook, but I think we'll need some actual substance before we ask for anyone's sponsorship.

PS Satyre, I think you meant for this thread to read "compilation" not "complication" lol

Judges should not listen to any WIPs or Teasers beforehand imho as well. To prevent bias. :3

I'm not the only opposed to the idea of associating this with Balloon Party at all, am I? I feel like someone will look at it, think it's just another spinoff, and not take it seriously.

Totally- I say we can say we are the opposite, but I would remember to state that we have no affiliation with BP. Anyway, this is how I was thinking the judging would take place: people submit their tracks to the coordinator; that coordinator then gives each track a number name that corresponds to an artist, then sends it to be judged. Of course, we can just do regular judging as I doubt anybody has any animosity towards one another, but this other method might be a tad better, I don't know...
But yeah, let's get the simple stuff sorted out like a name. And maybe a sign up sheet?

I agree that it should be something different, people probably assume that It's just Dubstep. I think this needs a peaceful name. I'm horrible with names though, but we could make a list of suggestions.

Also none of us are mods to this site, we might want to attract a mod who's interested in running this, that way, we can submit on this site just like we did with Balloon Party and other stuff.

I'd Help run this, but I can't do anything heavy, maybe just help commercialize it, or some other kind of stuff.

I'm sure we need to think up some outlining objectives before we submit, but after we do we can just PM Makkon to see if he'd be interested in conducting this Album in the same way as BP, though I'm sure with the small amount of tracks planned we can just get by by ourselves on the forums and Skype.

I'd be willing to help with this, though. Anyway I can, rather than just submitting music.

How about a deadline in November do that there is plenty of time for people to make their song?

As for a matching album name... "Autumn Frozen Over"

Good idea?

How about just "Frozen Over"-...
We could all do tundra themes and include things like quiet wind/snow blowing backing all our tracks to make the album match itself in a sense. Think of Makkon's Winterglade track being an ambient track instead of orchestral theme.

Of course we all have our own styles (chillstep, orchestral ambient, maybe even some very soft rock), but the diversity within these guidelines would still be pretty epic for this. Also, I need to get Resonant Waves in on this. :D

Anyone think they can add to this idea? Of course this is my personal bias for this album.

I'd rather not restrict ourselves to a theme like "tundra." Everyone's just gonna put sleighbells in their songs!

But really: I know we hate comparisons to Balloon Party ITT, but their only 'theme' was "hard." There's no problem in ours just being "soft."

Soft is a good theme- Just like Smile, for a charity album of the same name. I do still think that "Frozen Over" would be a good album title though.

We need someone in charge of uploading the tracks on Bandcamp and how/where to submit and whatever else will need to happen.
